Need help deciding on injectors

Which injector is good to run on e85 with single 255 pump? 1000cc or 1200cc? My goal is to run 28psi on e85 and hoping to be around 400whp range. Thanks

My buddy is running 1000's with a 255. He's stock turbo with intake/exhaust/flash/MBC at around ~30psi and made right at 400/400 and ran 11.50's so I'd say those'd be good for you.

If you are looking at 400whp and E85. 1000cc will get you there, but that'll be about it. If you have any plans for more in the future, or would just like a little head room so you won't have to buy injectors again I'd suggest going with bigger. We do have our 1300cc available now.

FIC 1100's or ID 1000's.

Do your self a favor and spend the money on high impedence injectors. You will lover your life because of them.

I've tried a bunch of 1000-1100 cc/min injectors, and the FIC1100s (high Z) were the best for me.

All the best discussion is on the Evo 8/9 forums. Would be great to have a 1300 cc/min high Z injector option for the Evo 8/9. Is it impossible to adapt the Denso injector to the Evo 8/9?

Well, your wish might just come true. We've had a few tuners ask us about this, too. We are looking into offering High Z injectors for some of our popular Low Z applications.

1 of the biggest advantages is the design of the injector and it's compatibility with ethanol.

The pintle type injectors (a majority of the Lz injectors) have been known to clog due to build up from use of ethanol fuels.

The newer design of injectors (mostly Hz injectors) use either a ball seat or disc type mechanism that is ethanol friendly.

Interesting- can you document this pintle vs ball or disk type injector issue in E85? Perhaps like the old diesel pintle types sticking when ultra-low sulfur fuel came out and lubricity dropped?
