Anyone seeing E85 supply issues?

According to the station manager where I usually get E85, the wholesale price for regular gasoline is now about the same as it is for E85. So, the station ownership figures that if the retail price is the very close for both regular and E85, no one will buy the E85; consequently, they have stopped buying E85 for resale.

As anyone else seen this phenomenon in your respective market?

BTW, I paid $3.19 for E85 on Sunday; regular was $3.29. Usually the spread is more than a dime.

prices are fairly high in portland, but i haven't heard anything discontinuing E85 sales at the two stations where i fill up. attendants at both stations have told me that the majority of e85 customers are driving sports cars, so my guess is that they are selling as much as ever.

I spoke to the founder of Propel last month at a film screening. They are opening 20+ stations over the next year in California.

All that money they spent on the new refineries in California, it should increase. Prices should drop with the lack of having to ship it over the Rockies.
Pearson Fueling keeps suppling new stations and shows no signs of slowing down.

you're lucky that you had access to it this whole time. im from Gallup and it sucks that no where close has e85. thats the thing i hate about new mexico, the state is always far behind the surround states on everything! lol

e85's main appeal to consumers was its price. when it was a lot cheaper than pump gas, people used it as an alternative to save some money. now that prices are getting close to pump gas, it has lost its appeal to majority of consumers due to its loss in fuel milage, only people with performance vehicles reap the benefit but to the average person, it has no additional benefits.

Im pumping Propel & Pearson here in So.Cal. Although the prices quoted by most of you certainly dont compare to this high tax state of CA.

I dont have my finger on the pulse as to what the future holds for E85 but I sure hope the wave grows

Peace, Joe

I've experienced a station running out of e85.

This station is Silvas Oil Company, located in Ventura County.
I thought it was my credit card, so I tried another one.
There are 2 e85 pumps there and both did not work.

The price of e85 has increased here, I think the difference is only 0.10 cents from 87 octane

Things seem to be ok here in Vegas. I paid $3.16 yesterday for E85. There is a significant difference in price from reg gas. 87 octane here is about $3.60's and 91 oct is $3.80-3.90
