Starting to tune.. logs and such inside
Your map has come a long way, you'll be pleasently surprised when you get it back on the dyno.
Just remember that since you have been road tunning the car under "real load" when you get it on the dyno it will read .1-.2 richer because it'll have less load. Don't be tempted to lean it out.

Well got busy with stuff
Car now has alky injection (50/50 w/ water)
I thought I would be able to see the alky kick in on my AFR's but it's not super obvious. I need to do a lil more reading about how the alky kicks in etc.. It's set somewhere around 16-17psi right now.
Hopefully it cools down some and I'll start working on a map. It's miserable out right now.
If anyone wants to throw so suggestios my way that would be great. I'm running the SMC kit.

2. Set spray on point lower to about 8-10psi as it is progressive.
3. Use 100% methanol.
4. Sell kit and buy one with adequate spray volume if results still are poor.

I'm going to bump the spray down some. I'm not sure if it has dipswitches or not.. ifso I'll have to find them... only thing on the controller is two lil screwdriver knobs.
I plan to use straight meth/alky at the track but it could get expensive for daily driving. Don't you add a capful of something if using straight meth/alky?
Car feels nice now.. buttloads of tq. I can definately see the rich dip in the AFR now. My tune was a bit lean in the low range after a bov swap so this is part of it...
AFR's from 3500-5500 are around 11.5 After that it drops down to 11.0 at redline. I'm going to pull a lil fuel out around 6000 and get some new logs. I'm running the same timing as my pump gas tune.

Your AFR may not change much at all when you are spraying meth. Your wideband O2 sensor actually measures Lambda, which is then converted into an AFR number. If you were seeing good performance at .75 lambda (11.0 AFR for 100% gasoline), then you should see similar results at .75 lambda when spraying meth. A lambda of 1 is the stoich value of whatever fuel you are burning. However, unless you adjust the multiplier that the wideband sensor uses to convert lambda to an Air/Fuel ratio, you'll still see 11.0 displayed in your logs/gauge when you are running at .75 lambda with meth (even though the 'real' AFR would be less than 11).

Justchil, the dip switches referred to above, are located on the side of your controller. You will a small hole in the plastic casing and 2 switches inside. The new kits do not require the additive for alky or meth.

RGR that. I need to find out what nozzle the SMC kit from BR comes with.. then I'll check the dipswitch settings just to be sure. I turned the alky to kick in a bit earlier.. boy did that help

Problem found. I had set max setting to 26psi. This is where the pump comes in at full speed. I set it around 20psi and now AFR's are super rich. I believe I'm on the right track now.

I started another thread about the alky stuff.. it is the m7 and there are no visible dip switches on the controller except the two dials. Unless of course I'm way off and the controller is on the tank itself.

Alky tune is getting better...

The logfile
http://justchil.net/dl/evo/tuning/alky_log.zto
EVOScan Log from the last 3rd/4th gear pull
http://justchil.net/dl/evo/tuning/alky_log1.xls
My ROM file (created from scratch rom)
http://justchil.net/dl/evo/tuning/ALKY_13.hex
Now if I could get rid of the damn P0171 code I'd be happy.

Anyone car to comment on this?
Which would enable me to squeeze out the most extra hp
I'm running 50/50 alky/water now 26psi.
Should I try running 100% alky with more aggressive tune OR stick with 50/50 and add 100 octane gas to up it around 97-99octane? Upping the boost to 27/28 either way...
EDIT:
Actually I think I'll go for some 112. Now the question is what to do with the alky injection? Turn it off or maybe put water in it to cool things.. or is that overkill?
