lean spool instructs the ECU to lean out the AFR's for a given rev range - most people disable it as it makes tuning a little easier/more predictable

If thats the last line in the ROM at that point, then yes.

with regards to EcuFlash, just keep backup copies of you ROM and then experiment...

until you "FLASH" back to your car you havn't done any damage... so it can't hurt to try things

Because vista is security conscious you need to save it to somewhere else and the copy it back..

you may even need to save it as a .txt and then copy it back and then rename it back to .xml...

So then I just edit it through wordpad when I change it to txt? Then rename it basically right?

yup and stick it (overwrite) the old file in the ecuflash directory...

Still won't let me, it says I dont have permission to write in the folder...

i took out the old rom, copied the new one in as a txt doc, then tried to save the old one as a xml doc and didn't work, it gave me the above mentioned error

you got admin rights on you box?

try deleting the file first?

closed EcuFlash just incase?

I didn't delete the original 88590015 file, i just cut it and paste it into the documents folder; i do have admin rights, i mean its my personal laptop; so you're suggesting to delete the original 88590015 alltogether?

Sorry for making this more difficult then it should be, just a little slow with this "detailed/expert" adjusting on the comp

hallelujah!! Finally got it, thanks for helping me tephra, I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!!!!

Now all I do in evoSCAN is click LOAD MUT 2Byte Mod and RPM MUT 2Byte Mod in the "Items to Data Log" column and I'm set right?

and possibly change the formulas for evoscan... depending on what variable you happened to pick
