automatic tracking of peak boost

I've been disassembling all the routines in the ROM that read the MAP sensor. Turns out that the routine I most recently disassembled keeps track of the min/max boost levels. With a few simple ROM and EvoScan Data.xml mods, these min/max boost levels can be logged. Not sure its really that useful, but just thought I'd mention it.

I already tried it. It works. I'll see about posting the required mods later tonight.

Very cool stuff. Now we just need a small LCD or something to show all this stuff in real time.

I am curious if this means that the Dealership can track peak boost as well? Or is this only if the ROM has been altered to send the data. I am thinking from the aspect of DTC's that if this feature can be disabled or cleared before dealer visits that might be good.

Nah, it gets erased everytime the car is turned off, and the RAM variable is not one that's tracked in the MUT list. I had to add it to the MUT list.

Yeah, the JDM MAP sensor is needed to track the max value. The USDM MAP sensor can track the min boost though. :-))

Although, you could probably find it in OBDII freeze frame if it threw a code a just the right time.

it is not part of the freeze frame data. At least not with the software that I use to pull codes

I use this software, which has been licensed to several states as part of their emissions testing.

Probably not, but I though manifold pressure was stored. Oh well.
