2.38 seconds for 4000 rpm to 6000 rpm seems a little slow, esp for a 6 speed, unless pulled uphill the second one was slower - 2.45 seconds.

Other IXs are hitting 2.1 seconds with a 5 speed IX and minor bolt - ons but maybe a little more boost. IX gearing for both 5 and 6speeds 3rds are slightly taller than resp VIII's, there is no reason not to hit like 2.2 seconds through that rpm range.

He should focus on building a nice lean, mean and "safe" fuel map and then build a timing map optimized for the afr. His timing looks good and I think I even run a couple more degrees than he does with 0 knock with occasional 1's-2's and a 12.0 afr. He can keep adding timing at different areas until it knocks and then back off a degree and the car should run very well. 1's and 2's mean your trying, tuning for 0 knock is just a waste of time.

and cramming timing down a motors throat and adding fuel to compensate so it doesnt knock is just plain barbaric.

By no means am I a "tuner" and i dont tune anyone elses car but my own but so far I have my IX running very strong with minimal mods and is 100% safe.

Here is a link to one of my 3rd gear logs, 23 psi, 93 octane.....its still a work in progress but im getting closer to where i want it to be and its running very strong. I have a tbe, intake, mbc.

I don't recommend shooting for 12.0's at 23psi on 93 octane in this god forsaken weather to anyone I like I prefer to run with more fuel and timing, but to each his own.

I've read that.. a long time ago. While fascinating, my car doesn't agree.

Whether 90-94oct a competant tuner can tune from the logs without the need for the oct figure.
Yeah, my point exactly. It'll take you alot longer to get there without knowing how much octane you're running.

Did you ever run this log through DLL and see the power output of your car?

my trial ran out on dll and i just havent purchased the registration for it....... when i get around to buying it i will run this log through and see what it says.

Also where i log has a slight slope to it so it would throw it off since its not a flat road...

no thats ok.....im capable of doing it myself thank you.

Here is my dll and that is with Evo IX car data, the numbers are low but dont forget that this log is on an uphill slope and that takes away a lot of accuracy....Plus im still working on the tune, going to add more timing and get my afr a little smoother and more towards 12.0-12.2 through the powerband.

Numbers aside, your peak torque is about 1500 rpm higher than it could be. At the very latest its a 1000rpm. I dont use DLL so what that because of the hill?

yea it could be.....not 100% sure. I heard for it to be accurate the log has to be on a flat - level road or it can throw the numbers off in dll.
