Can you please help me with a definition for flash cell on knock for 88840017 Rom stock version?

I can`t use yet TephraMod V6 at this moment because I did`nt recieve the last 1,3 cable yet.

I want to try this patch doo until than but I don`t know what to add into my xml file.

you will need a cable todo any flashing...

whats the problem with V6?

 

Dave.....lately I`m trying to make some tests about Knock phenomenon regarding the relationship with gas temeprature or gasoline that I usualy use at normal temperature of the engine in normal weather conditions.

This spontaneous ignition of end gas depends on the balance between the ignition delay of low temperature oxidation reaction (temperature and pressure) and the time required for the front flame to reach the end gas.

So the lower the end gas temperature is the slower the autoignition reaction progresses and the chance of knock became smaller.

But I still believe that the gasoline boiling point, witch seems very important is not every time at the value imposed by the Council for Occupational Standards and Certification or whatever name they have.

I allready send some letters to the main chains of gas stations around me, ask for some written details about the properties of the gasoline that they are selling.

It`s difficult for me to flash your V6 mod yet without the 1,3 cable and if I wanna test this without problems.

I must flash and unflash your mod all the time because I wanna test this with original map version not with V6 in the same environment facts.

The heat release rate of the engine to the gas is a important factor of knock appearance ....... and occurrence of knock seems conected to heat transfer to gas.

I know that the knock is caused by many factors but I wanna test this issue with all types of gas that I have in my area and check this issue somehow in the same environment using the same factors as outside temperatures and engine temp.

This is why I wanna do this on my 88840017 map and I cant do it with V6 mod.

ok well this still requires flashing your car with a whole rom like v5 or v6.

so either way you will need the cable

So....with a stock map......if I add only the xml add-on`s it will not work anyway.....

For example.....if tommorow somebody will find more definitions for a specific map.....if they will add it into their xml files in Ecuflash.......that new option....or finding.....it will not work.....

They will need your mod in order to use it?

Maybe I understand wrong all the issue here......

With Openport Tactrix Cable I can only flash the roms.....

Still I did`nt recieve 1,3.....

This XML requires TephraMOD rom.

if someone finds NEW tables tommorow for any rom then it can be found in another rom (as long as its not tephramod)

what do you mean you dont have 1.3 yet? you only need the tactrix cable to flash and log... (or do u have an OP2.0 cable??)

 

Hey, got a lil question. The patched ROM in this thread still work right? I know there is the tephra mod 5.10 and V6 is coming soon, but I like to be super simple, and since I ONLY WANT CEL flash on knock, I wanted to use these patched ROMs.

So its all good to use these ROMs right??

 

yes - although i didn't like the way i did it for 96940011 so dont use that particular rom

 

I was gonna use 94170015. I have a 04 RS. Cool? Also Im using ECuflash 1.4x, so do i need to use the xml included or modify it or anything?

 

yeah u need use the XML in there.

change and little to big for endian

The gurus should start a business helping people do these mods, id pay up!. I cant figure this stuff out. I can tune the ecu but when it comes time to alter xml, im lost. My rom is 96420007 and its not listed in the first post as a pre-patch.

Use ROM 96420008. It says untested, but other have confirmed it works.

Also, i know it isnt 96420007, but it is in the same family (9642) and will work.

tephra, could you please add 88580013 to the modded roms.
I have several people in the Sydney area that would love this but dont want all the other stuff associated with the later mod versions.
