ahh ok - a little OT but still
Linger is really meant for ICS equiped cars - instead of having to hold the manual button down you setup a timer and it does the action for that amount of time when you press the button.
So in your case its the opposite, it de-energise the IC relay for the predefined amount of time...

Whats the difference between IC deenergize on knock time and manual IC deenergize linger time (sorry, ADD here
)?
BTW, on the way home I managed to log a run that had 3 counts of knock and defaulted to low boost failsafe instantly, as it was set to. Then I logged another session completely dry of knock where normal 28 psi hit. I overlayed the two logs for comparison and it really displays the system working well, differences in load and airflow, and rpm slope.
Would you like to see the log, I would be more than glad to post the log here with your permission ?

sure - why not
De-energise on Knocktime is how long it will do it when knock is detected
De-energise linger time is how long is will do it when you press the manual button

What is this failsafe that you mention? Where can we find that patch?

I will let C6 explain more, but he has rewired the Intercooler spray system into his boost control. So when he gets knock he can drop boost.
C6 - the floor is yours
totally OT i know ... :P

stage fright...No more OT here you have my words
Same thing with the CEL but the IC relay DE-ENERGIZES (instead of energizes) when knocking. For me this patch vents boost due to the configuration and modification of my diverter valve, very primative and mechanical but it works nonetheless. Think of it as the missing link in evolution to the next form of protection using the stock BCS - which is probably being used that way already (even though I dropped the evolution theory years ago).
This is how the system is rigged:
1. Use a stock nylon diverter valve and drill a port through the inner chamber on manifold side of diaghram
2. Place a 3 way, two position solenoid (I used and extra FP solenoid) in line.
3. Tap that side into the highest pressure source on charge (turbo outlet is about 8 psi higher than plenum)
4. Tap the top diaghram where it normally is (vac source, plenum).
5. Wire the solenoid into IC relay controlled motor output
6. Set IC relay parameters to energize at 2 volts TPS always
7. Now the flash will undue the energize if knock happens
I originally modded the valve as a leak stop function at 2 volts TPS to hold boost under load but stock like otherwise. Tephra's patch enabled me to also use it as a failsafe system by disabling the leakstop beyond 2volts (or whatever) TPS.
Thats it
Here is a log I did last night with it working, it's not as drastic as my W/M failsafe controller but smoother and is responsive to the most critical thing - knock, and is used this way as a redundant feature.

Notice the change in RPM slope, load, and airflow between the two. 28psi vs 19 peak and 23 psi vs about 17 up top
Here is what my settings ended up changing to..... scared the crap out of me.
......and this is after I had already had this working.
IRT setting the load to zero.... I often see phantom knock at low loads. I really do not care to see that activity. I want to know about knock when at 200 and above.

I copied and pasted additional xml by opening romdata in ecuflash folder.
after that, i opened ecuflash program(v1.31), no problem opening the ecu flash, i opened my saved map in the computer.
then it shows exactly same thing like above.
what do i do now? can i just change values above and flash it to the car? or is there something else? what do you exactly mean by 'patching' rom???
thanks all.

this is exactly what i get.

hi,
firstly just use the NLTS patch and disable NLTS if you like
easier for me to support 1 rom :P
second, did you open the supplied ROM in the zip? you need to copy/paste all your settings from YOUR ROM to the supplied ROM... then you should see some sensible numbers there
good luck!
Cheers

well, update tomorrow how this one goes. thanks again.
seems like it's working fine! it's so cool!!! well, having knock isn't cool but...
i actually logged with evoscan when it happened, so i will compare it tonight.
thanks Tephra.

Hi Dave,
I just wanna ask you something if you have time about this patch and for some unknown reason I write the question in another thread.
Thanks
