ECU boost control mods
Sweet thanks guys thats great info...
Yep its pretty tight in there my hand is full of nicks from that radiator - I tried the other night, got the top heat shield off, struggled with the bottom one with the tools I have - couldn't get to the last inner bolt... So I gave up and went to bed...
Will try again later this week. Might be a bit easier if I put it on a lift and do it from the bottom.

A friend and I are looking to start controlling boost via the ecu based on this guide. In order to do so I need to find the addresses for the following:
The definition files in questions are 98640014 and 89980000. My definition file (98640014) already has the 2byte load but the remaining addresses are missing.
I could ask someone to 'find' them for me but as the saying goes, "Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he will eat for a lifetime." Plus there are other things I'd like to find for my friends rom (89980000) like 2byte load and 2 byte rpm for logging.
If this is too much to ask I've attached a copy of both ecu .hex and .xml if anyone would like to take a look:
89980000 ---> http://download.yousendit.com/3DB231A42CFC2EED
98640014 ---> http://download.yousendit.com/56A5E8C3042CF7DD
- Variable for Boost Control
- SHLR->SHLL for EBC
- Boost Error RAM Address
- Boost Error RAM Address in Load Error Table
- WGDC Correction Interval #1
- WGDC Correction Interval #2
- Boost Error Correction
- Boost Adder
- Baseline Boost #1
- Baseline Boost #2
- Baseline Boost #3 (BCLS)

Its actually a fair bit of work to get up-to-speed on this type of work. There are some brief tutorials on how to get started on AktiveMatrix.com. It took me roughly nine months of dinking around in my spare time to get to the point where I could do this kind of thing.

I'll have to start reading up on Aktivematrix. MalibuJack always has something informative to add and I'm sure there's a lot of information I need to catch up on over there.
One last question...it might be an obvious answer but I just want to make sure. An evo VI is about to undergo a VII ecu conversion so I can reflash it via EcuFlash (Rom ID is 98640014...same as above)
Taking into account I make sure all my fuel/timing/boost tables are matching, can I flash an VIII rom onto the VII without any hickups? I mean the actual ROM...not transfer the tables and such.
Reason being I could simply use a common place USDM VIII rom like 94170008 which has support for things like 2byte load, 2 byte rpm, ecu controlled boost, and is just a lot more supported on this forum.

That xml and that hex don't match, the 98640014 xml already has both WGDC correction time tables, which I found after help from mrfred ( thanks again) the rest of the tables are patches that mrfred applied.
You can get very good ECU based boost control without using the PSI based method mrfred has developed, just using the stock load based system and a 3 port BCS.

That will make it easy to adapt to that ROM, so I can do that when I get an 88840013 ROM. Its probably better for the 88840013 guy to switch to the 88840016 ROM though as I imagine that tephra will not be making a prepatched 88840013 ROM.
