Took some logs

Hi all

I'm pretty new to all of this, recently had a tune and some minor mods made to my car. Those mods include 3" exhaust from Turbo, stiffer WG spring, Panel filter drop in and a 255Walbro.

I logged a coupla pulls on 3:rd and attaching one log here. Knock sum shows up at 6, and that is pretty much what i can understand from the logs

Please give some 'general and loose' advice based on what you see here

-Chris

you do have a problem with logging, less than two updates per second is sad.

it looks like you may have some knock that is lost in the slow reporting. Your timing goes from 4 to 9 to 8 or thereabouts. the drop indicates something may be wrong, its hard to tell.
Part of the problem I have reading the log is that you started at a low rpm. Once you get your laptop /logger reading about six or more bits per second try starting the wot at around 3 k.

lastly, as said before to others, a wideband is really part of the game, can't make plays without it.

but logging and tuning can be rewarding and fun, hope you stick with it.

btw a load of over 300 is rocken for those mods?????

My laptop might be too slow, soon getting another one.
About the load, you mean that is good or bad?? Sorry, but i'm Swedish and
can't make up my mind how to interpet that comment

Another issue came up. I got a rom from a friend, and was thinking i'll try that
one out aswell, so i wrote to the ECU, all good, but now the car doesn't start, and ECUFlash won't initiate to the ECU when i try to put my old one back.

I'm sure i'm doing some general errors, but bare with that fact and help me out please

EDIT: I solved it. Sinca i did a newbie error by putting my friends rom in there i had to use Unlocker to reflash. It's all good now. Learn by doing

glad to hear you got it unlocked and re rom-ed.

the >300 load seems a bit high with your list of modifications. but never mind that for now. rocken isn't really a word, sorry, your english is so good I never suspected you were 2nd language.

not sure why your logging so slow, I have an old IBM "thinkpad" that just barely runs XP.

I'll look into it, might be the fact that i log alot of things, i could select fewer parameters and see what happens. It's a DELL Inspiron, 3 years old so it should'nt really e an issue there then.

A similar car with pretty much same 'homemade' mods and tuned by same guru made 330 ponies at the wheelhubs in rototest (www.rototest.com) i Know you guys dont have rototest in the US, but it's an accurate method used by the industry.. and after tuning my car he said it felt stronger than that car. I guess i should test mine to.

Thanks for helping out, back to logging and flashing

Yeah sorry .. i have attached a much much better run now . I figured out the real issue with the slow log .. i had some gauges up and they hurted logging performance. So i took em out and unchecked some other log flags aswell

Check out the new one

You can also turn off the onscreen logging, and turn on superspeed. You wont see what is being logged, but it will write it to a file, and it is MUCH faster for me.

looks good, there is no knock but it hard to see anything from this without any wideband.

very nice, almost amazing.

one little bitty thing that I'd do is smooth timing in the one particular place where timing goes from 5 ,7, 2, 4. Or something like that.

If you can get 2 byte load into the log that would be good, but really I wouldn't touch anything, it looks real nice.

Thanks for feedback.
Another suspect thing i noticed , it records knock even standing still and revving to like 5K, so how do i know that i'm not seing phantom knock in my pulls?

Some logs have shown 6 or more, and some 0 to 2

(I know, i probably need Wideband to go from here)

It puzzles me

So what boost are you running? LoadCalc is high, but then again LoadCalc always reads high @ peak.

If you do not have a wideband, try logging the primary O2 sensor. It will give you an idea where your AFR is, but do not use it to tune your fuel maps.
