Overboost

I was wondering how to turn off the overboost function on the ecu. I hava an aftermarket boost controller set to spike at 23.5psi, however if I go to pass someone and punch it in 5th gear it will spike to 26 psi and overboost. Where it feels like it puts me through a wall and then turns on the SES light. So how to I disable the stock overboost using ECUFlash?

Thank You

If the aftermarket boost controller has been properly installed, then the ECU shouldn't be controlling boost anymore. I would check how the aftermarket boost controller is setup...

The boost controller is a Hallman Pro RX installed to the WGA and the Turbo Nipple. The car seems to hit a brick wall when it boosts to 25 psi. The code I got was I believe P0234 which is overboost. From what I read, the best way to hook up the MBC is the WG and Turbo nipple.

I am not an expert on MBCs, but I believe that you should NOT hook up the MBC to the turbo nipple. That nipple should be capped and not used. One side of the MBC should be connected to the WG and the other side connected to one of the vaccuum hoses coming out of the valve cover on the front end. Again, I am not an expert, but that is thw way I remember it being done.

The boost cut still works when a MBC or EBC is used.

Yes that is true (hitting the wall) but he still has to control that spike to 26 psi which is what causes it to kick in in the first place. If he solves that, then the limits don't have to be raised.

First, keep the plumbing to the WGA tight with decent tubing. Is your WGA stock with stock preload? This will limit the spike

Then set your boost limit in EcuFlash to 319% accross the rpm and boost cut delay timer to 1000ms. This will keep the car from hitting fuel cut

he should be fixing his boost problem not disabling the boost limiting system.

Why would you do it this way and not use the compressor nipple?

Why not fix the boost problem and limiting both as I proposed? Ever hit fuel cut under stock boost settings?

Psi spikes are fromWGA not getting the control air in time which is easily fixed by reconfiguring the plumbing that drives it. Preload and aftermarket WGA can cause it too.

See this is why i WOULD use the compressor nipple. Because there is a pressure drop from the turbo to the intake mani, i would use the higher pressure coming from the turbo to control boost rather then the manifold to even more avoid overboosting.
