No it is single scroll T3 flange. I was really curious, but could not identify it.

Biggy, your 98RON must be pretty awesome stuff.
They are pretty big peak boost timing numbers for the boost you're running!

Hi, I'm self tuning my car, and I could use some help getting rid of 8 to 11 counts of knock from 5500 rpm and up.

I got rid of some spooling knock and the car runs good, but I have this knock at 5500, I tried lowering timing to the point i think it was too low, started increasing the timing up top, and same thing more kncok. what do you think about the map?

It is still a work in proggress, fuel is not set, but acceptable, and still working on timing.

Car is a evo 8, bbk full, S2, exhaust, tubular manifold, boost hits 25-26 peak and down to 22-20, crappy gas.

Hits 300/305 load at 4000 rpm down to 280 at 6500 and 260 at 7000.

Thanks for your opinion and help

I was only able to consistently sustain 11-12 degrees up top on my bbkfull/kelford 272 setup at 26-28 psi. Anymore and I'd get a 1-2count up top after a sustained pull, and that was on 93.

Looking at your map I'd drop timing from 4200 on at least 1 degree, and more up top.

Two important questions:
Which octane rating?
What is your WOT AFR?

For timing, your car won't take 9* at 5250 on your "crappy gas". You ramp progressively from low rpm...try to start ramping up later like that:

4500 4
5000 5
5500 6
6000 8
6500 10
7000 12
7500 14
^^93 octane numbers

After that, richer afr and less boost are some options to reduce knocking.

Thanks for both replys, I will try that.

Octane is "95" but I'm not in the US, so I guess it is similar to US 91 oct.

WOT AFR are mid to low 12 during spool, and from 4000 rpm and up high to mids 11's and then from 5500 and up is high to mids 10's, too rich, but trying to set up the timing to come back to fuel later.

Ok, I wish you good results before christmas ... Boost is quite high for 91 by the way. For AFR try a flat 11,5 it's a good start. For timing some areas aren't perfectly smooth, you could work a little bit on this. I made a little helper for this if you're lazy:

2.0 + CBRD BBK Full Ported + Kelford 272 + ETS 1.5" tubular manifold + IC + short piping etc ... hitting 25psi at 3500 and tapering to 22 after 5500. 255 load @ 3500 tapering to 230ish after 6000.

375whp at mustang dyno. 98 RON (93 octane) safe tune for road racing.

Despite that cars are hitting different load, timing numbers are pretty much the same.

The reason of knocking at 5K+ RPM seems to be your crappy gas. The numbers in your map looks fine for 98 RON.

Knock sums 8-11 is some real knock. Your ECU is taking 3-4* from your map,and you are just stressing your engine, trying to run the timing that causes knock. There is no reason for doing that. Lower your timing and\or boost.

If the timing and knock seem unusual, and/or the car doesn't drive right, you might have a mechanical issue.

Tuning is not all about the keyboard. Might be a good idea to do a good inspection.

I lowered timing in high rpms, used the smoothing tool and it worked great.

Seeing no knock now, so I can keep working on afr.

Thanks for your help

420hp on stock 9 turbo?

What dyno? Do you have acceleration chart for this car on 2-nd or 3-rd gear?
How much air it consumes at rated power?
Fantastic result, unbelievable...at least not on 98RON fuel...on race gas - probably....
