Rom ID

This may be a bit of a stupid question but on eculash my rom id is listed as: 98640014.
Is this the deffinately the rom id or is it just listed as this because that is the XML i attained that would read it?
I suppose what im trying to ascertain is. Do other xml files open my rom or is it specific and do i have the correct xml with all the available options?

Thanks in advance, Jamie

It's more than likely you don't have the definition file and told it to inherit the evo VII base 98640014. I assume this since I don't know of anyone who has a definition file for the evo IV. Definition files for evo go from the VII up, since you can't reflash CP9A models at this time.

Did you use a cable purchased from evoscan.org to pull the rom?

Its a VII that i have now. I will change my sig..

I didnt inherit i dont think i just put that xml into ecuflash then read out my JDM VII rom.
I think i may have found the answer to my own question from searching> If the options are there and work i have the right deff..

My only next question is can i write a map from another car - 7 or 8 that has a different definition to my ECU safely?

Hope to share a fair bit of my experience, dave's v5 rom for e8ra work on my e7jdm That's for cel, altmap and valet feature, but ntls is still down in my wish list. I won't suggest you reflash other car tuning into your own. But hey, my stock romid is 98640014!

TBH this is why i was asking the question. I want to install the tephra mod but my original ECU isnt listed.
I have changed all the values on 90550001 and can read all the options but i didnt dare flash yet until i knew it was safe..
Is this the E8 ra rom?

Also how do you wire in the switch for alternate maps?

Jim,
If your E7jdm spec has autoics, altmap should work! Have been using dave's v5 over a month now without trouble (extra 2-3 knock)...

Autoics - Auto intercooler water spray..? Yes it has.
I have had to change alot of the fuel options aswell as the ignition and fuel maps.
Does this sound right?

I will try it tonight..!

Yeap, look out for your stock load cell. You should have 0-260 and the new v5 have 0-300 load. Make sure you copy the right load cell to your new rom

The XML on that thread isnt listed on tephras thread.. (or i cant see it)
I have changed the map on rom 90550001 so it is the same as my ****014 (cant remember the exact deff) Is that good enough?
I feel like i need to meet all you u.k. ecuflash boys so i can get the stupid little questions i have so i can get into the proper stuff.

EDIT: I just got it.. The deff you have shown me is a good version of the one i am using - this will give me stationary rev limits then if i want all the extra features of V5 i will be o.k using 90550001 on my ecu as long as i change/check all the values in the rom. !
