ok, yes for E85, there needs to be another 30% added if using physical injector flow rates, but when using scaled injector flow rates, another 30% is not needed.

Has anyone been daring enough to run E85 during the winter and gotten good clean starts? I was using the 1.3x formula at first which was working pretty well, but I switched back to pump after two -10 days that took a couple of minutes of starting to get going.

Any way to formulate what number is actually working for you and injectors would be great (IE: x1.2 above 7c, x1.5below 7c ... etc)

I've been running values much higher than 1.3x to get good starting in temperatures down to 15F with E85 (not E70). I can imagine that -15F would be pretty tough with E85. Seems like it would be hard even with gasoline.

Yeah I remember my lancer had a heck of a time starting on 93 at -10. Probably 6 full cranks. lol, I'd never take the lancer out in that kind of weather again. ...suppose I'm a bit of an outlier though. 30K original miles on an 03 with many many track days.

frosty, running E85 and temps have been in the single digits and negative here in IL. Car starts after a couple cranks but no different then when on pump. Started after sitting outside at work today and temp was between 2-4 F. Car starts and doesn't stall after I played with the IPW Adder.

Only issue I have is the car will fall on its face when I take-off if I don't give it a few minutes to warmup. I hope to solve this problem by adjusting the Latency's for cold temps.

Please
All 96420007/96420008 users should switch to the 96420011 ROM. Its poor use of our time to find all these tables for every ROM.

I think you'll find that this doesn't work. My car also falls on its face if I don't warm it up sufficiently with E85 in the winter. I have to warm it up at a minimum of until the coolant gauge needle begins to move. I usually wait until its its almost touching the lower range hash mark.

The issue is that the car is probably running lean due to poor atomization. Cranking up the low voltage latencies shouldn't richen anything once the car starts. I haven't tried it yet, but my suggestion would be to raise the "min temperature for closed loop" to something like 100-120 F or perhaps even higher, and then tweak your fuel map to run rich in the load and rpm range that you see for daily driving. The ECU will use those values until it warms up sufficiently to switch to closed loop.

This might be a stupid question - but where is this table? I have looked through my rom defs. and I do not have it? (I am updated with the latest/greatest you posted for 88590015)

I actually switched back to 93 for the rest of winter - we have been having really cold temps and i got tired of the games even though I did get it to start pretty well. Really the way the weather has been here it makes no sense to run e85, i see no benefit this time of year in the northeast. Once the temps go back above 50 deg. I will switch back.....I must say its nice to start the car first fire, and drive away with no acting up.

Not to mention the 3 stations in my general area have cranked the prices up at least 20 cents over premium....that also weighed into my decision it wasn't worth it right now, I drive to much like grandpa this time of year

MrFred, I will try that. I think I have the switch low to accomodate MPG cruising. I there a way to have both?

Travman, still paying 1.49/gallon here for E85 and 93 is over 2.19.
