Is WGDC Correction acting correctly in this log?

Can anyone tell me if the WGDC Correction is acting normally on this log (3rd gear pull from 2000 to 7200RPM)? I would have though WGDC correction would have changed with Load Error. Here WGDC Correction adjusts when Load Error is + but does not return to 0 as Error Correction becomes negative. When this happens Duty Cycle is less than it should be.

I am using Tephra V5.1 ROM 96530006 which is native to my car and 3 port boost solenoid. Thanks.

Yes, it is working correctly. When error goes up WGDC decreases ... when the error goes negative the WGDC increases until it his the max correction value (where it flat-lines up top). The correction does look wrong in it's own graph though ... according to the WGDC it's right.

Posting your Error Correction table, WGDC Correction Interval and WGDC table would be helpful.

Do you have any upward correction in the -20 cell of the Error Correction table? If not, then it will do no upward correction to bring WGDC back up when Load Error is -20. That is what it looks like from the graph you posted.

I was thinking the same (looks like little/no upward correction in the Error Correction table).

Thanks for the replies. I do have upward Boost Error Correction zeroed out as per the attached image. Correction interval is set to 2.

I had assumed, incorrectly, that if Load Error was at say +10 for example then there would be -3% correction in duty cycle but when Load Error got back into negative numbers Error Correction would be zero and boost control would be back to running the full duty cycle. However, I see in reality that every time Load Error gets into the positive range WGDC correction bumps up and stays there until the end of the run. Is this where the Max Total Upward WGDC Correction vs TPS helps out?

Also, I am using load based boost control. My car has no wiring provision for a JDM map sensor but I have attached a AVCR map sensor to the ECU to log boost. Can the AVCR map sensor be used with direct, PSI based, boost control?

Nope, if you have no upward correction the system will never put back in WGDC after it is pulled for any reason.

Try taking out the two 10's in the Max Total Upward WGDC correction vs TPS table, bring back in all your upward correction, and see how it works then.

I think you will surprised and happy.

Edit: nevermind it is load based not psi.

You should log load too.

I just tried as you suggest and I see WGDC is restored. Does this look as it should now? Thanks to everyone who helped out.

Glad that worked John F.

I would add a little bit more upward correction in the higher cells in the correction table, just to make sure it brings all your boost back if it drops it too much.

Remember, now that you zeroed out your Max Total Upward table, WGDC will NEVER EVER go above the base WGDC table. Hell you could put 150 in the upward correction of the correction table and it will never go above base WGDC.

John - I owuld run PSI based, since you are logging boost via the AVC-R...
