but the afr map means nothing, you would only use that if you were in open loop.

maybe MRFRED has that figured in his patch, if he does the actual number wouldn't be important. Just keep altering it till you get the desired result.
iow the afr map is dependent on injector scaling so it isn't used directly.

In closed loop, actual AFR should exactly follow AFR map. The car is in open loop for the first few seconds of operation though, and if the injector scaling and latency are way out of whack, then the AFRs could go really lean or rich. The same thing would happen without the patch though.

it only happens with the patch and put in closed loop. If i run the car in open loop the afr is 14's and 15's. I thought the afr map is what the ecu thisnks the afr is when in closed loop?

Wow, I'm late to replying to all of this; my apologies!

"Cold Engine Closed Loop AFR" (at address 7FC2) was incorrectly set in the ROM that I uploaded; it should have been 14.7 (I set it to 0x8 instead of 0x80, that's what I get for editing all of this by hand). I've uploaded a revised version,; if you downloaded v1, make sure you change Cold Engine Closed Loop AFR to a value you actually want to target, such as 14.7.

i think i found the problem the o2 sensor is reading .8v which is 11's afr so the ecu keeps pulling fuel as it thinks the afr is in the 11's. Im using the v7 rear o2 sim.

The wideband analog out is reading 0.8 V?

The ecu doesnt read the wideband analog with the 9653 rom. It reads fine with the 0008 rom tho. The volts to afr chart is almost perfect to what im logging off the wideband through the serial cable on the 0008rom. But with the 9653 rom the o2 #1 stays at .8v and o2 #2 stays at 2.731v. I have logs that i can send you, pm me your email and ill send them to you.

Now i think I read somewhere that the 9653 rom didnt come with a rear o2 from the factory? So wouldnt i just put the analog wire off the wideband to the front o2 in the ecu, pin 76?

Hello

So with a wired wbo2 in to the rear nbO2 place I coud use this patch in the V7 rom ? just copy the text in the XML ?
The car will never use the front o2 with the patch ?
What will happen if my wbo2 go wrong ?! any safe mod ? How will change the car work ?!

when you turn it off, you will then be using whats in your fuel map. so you will need to log cruise, idle and adjust the map to suit.
iow all the 14.7 will become active, but not correct ~9 times out of 10

The turning off the "allow closed loop" setting does go off the fuel map all the time, but it won't use the fuel trims to target the value. This patch will use the fuel trims to help hit your target. This keeps you from having to tune those low load/low rpm values that can sometimes be a pain to get exact. The fuel trims will help you get the best fuel mileage and performance by always trying to hit the values in the map.

Tested

I have implemented the 9653 port and it seems to work well. The 'sluggish' response of the system is indeed noticeable, but my WB02 is located in the stock rear 02 location, so this about what I expected.

I have not made any adjustments to the fuel map, so I will report back if I have success leaning out my cruise cells and 'saving' some fuel.

3gTurbo: the front 02 should report .8 volts, that is what looks normal to me. I have my WB02 setup in the rear 02 as per the instructions found in other threads (I believe post 1 from mrfred actually cites them).

I am running this on my 2G Eclipse, I'm not sure what your doing wrong but heres what I did:

-Reset ECU
-modified my XML with logics code
-Load up my V7 9653 rom with ecuflash 1.42
-copied all the required code from logic's rom he posted
-Set warmup AFR to 14.3, enabled the patch, and double checked that the MUT table was correct.
-loaded rom into ecu and started! no problems.

I would assume it is an issue with your calculations or you have incorrectly applied the patch. everything works for me, just a bit sluggish, BUT I do like it!

Great job to mrfred for making the patch, everyone appreciates your time and effort! A big thanks to Logic for the port!
