The definitive EcuFlash Evo 10 thread
GST, English Racing, World One, and HB Speed are in the beta group. TTP has been working with gunzo, but is not in the beta group.
Now that bricked ECUs can be repaired, its not so scary to mess with the beta versions, but anyone messing around with the beta version should be aware that Tactrix is going on vacation for a while starting at the end of this month. If you brick your ECU during their vacation, you'll be without a working ECU until they start up shop again.

for MRFRED he kicks
Yep. Beta is for beta testers only, if you somehow get the beta and "brick" your ECU then Tactrix can fix it for you for a fee.
At least that's what I get out of the thread in regards to the beta. Most of the rest is the usual squabbling and "looking down their noses" at each other of the vendors on these forums.

No one is looking down their noses @ anyone.
Beta testers are people who can contribute to the project thru testing and development. Colby chose certain people because they are good at what they do, whether it be Tuning (razorlab) or Rom dis assembly (sic, gunzo, mrfred).
I know people are impatient, i also know that given the track record of noobs with this software (in its current state) that 50% will brick the ecu on the first try. Colby doesn't want that so, it wont be officially released untill its stable or has recovery.
90% of the Known people who have obtained the beta "unofficially" bricked their ecu. That is why its not a public release yet.

there are still issues that need to be resolved. Luckily i was looking for this already
i wish i understood more of the disassembly aspect of this, i understand the tuning and tables but how you guys do what you do amazes me, i had trouble disassembling extremely basic programs in school, and you guys are disassembling a very advanced cars ECU, it just amazes me, keep up the work fellas
That is normal, you need to exit programming state and also clear DTC's (all within ecuflash) before starting car.
