Yeh the fuel light would be good, afr's go too lean, and the fuel light flashes at you

I did think that the others are all controlled elsewhere, but the speedo does go via the ecu so that has to be an option doesn't it ?

Or what about the cat on fire warning light (not sure if all markets have this light) but I would have thought that goes via the ecu ?

I have just checked the pinout diagrams I have.

Both Speedo and Rev Gauge (listed as Road Speed and Tacho) are on the ecu pinouts for 7/8/9 ecu's

Is their source the ECU or does the ECU just get the same signals from the sensors as the tacho and speedo do?

I am not 100% sure on the tacho, however iirc the speedo drive on the gearbox (on the 4/5/6 atleast) goes direct to the ecu, and then out to the clocks.

Because if you were to fit the speedo converter behind the dash, and not at the gearbox end, the clocks read in mph but you still have the top speed limiter holding you to 112ish mph.

So it should be the same on the later models

russ, if you snip the speedo wire at the ecu 4/5/6 you get rid of speed cut but speedo still works .so i think it works the opposite way clocks then ecu

Why was there several threads on the MLR a few yr's ago about fresh imports reading in mph but still having the limiter on them, when the converter was behind the clocks and not done at the gearbox side

alright guys, real quickly...

when the WGDC drops to 0, the boost stays high for a little bit, but the load starts dropping of pretty quickly.

is there any danger here?

AFR's go lean and timing increases (because of the perceived load drop).

Could that be countered by dropping to the low octane maps?
