Question Unable to read ECU?

So im just trying to get started at this whole tuning thing, and so far its going bad. Everytime I try to read the ROM off my car it says unable to connect.

I plug in the cable, the opinion to read becomes available, then I choose me car on the list and it starts load and then says unable to connect.

What am I doing wrong?

Call Works and tell them what you are trying to do.

Why? Is it because of the Works Flash that I cant access my ecu?

Yeah probably - some change the init code and you have to run an unlocker tool with ecuflash to access it.

Another thing is if your battery voltage is low it can cause issues for reading/writing.......trying driving the car for a bit then try and read from the ecu.

Wow, that's pretty weak on Works behalf if they locked his ECU just because they flashed the car.

Courtesy locked or not call them. They will advise you perhaps you need to send the ecu back.
