Injector Scaling Issue

Alright guys I just swapped out my stock injectors for PTE 1000cc.

The car is running extremely Lean at idle, and at WOT.

I changed the Latency to the following.

I also adjusted the Injector scaling column after to 860cc/min. Still Lean.

Logged my fuel trims and for some reason they all read .1008

Does anyone have better latency values I could try out, or any advice on what I should do next?

I am also posting a log of me at idle, cruising and a quick WOT.

Mods:

IX TURBO
HKS 280
255
All other Bolt ons

Thanks

how long did you let it idle for? It needs like 10 -15 mins. (sometimes longer) just to set/accept the change and start logging trims correctly.

Did you check the injector scaling thread to find your scaling and latencies for those injectors, or are you starting from scratch?

I am still on the stockers, but I know that scaling injectors isnt as easy as it sounds. It usually takes 2-3 hours to get them ideal.

Injectors will be my next mod... Im maxing out @ 6500.

I have pte1000's, and it took me awhile to get my latencies correct. Your latencies seem a bit low- I think for these injectors 14v should be in the .7's and 12v should be in the .9's. Scaling should probably be somewhere from 860-914.

These settings work for me on pump gas:
scaling: 886
3.624
1.992
1.344
0.936 - 12v
0.744 - 14v
0.552
0.408

My trims are 0 idle/ -3 cruise - as close as I could get. Do a 10 idle / 10 minute cruise. Sometimes if you let the car idle too long the fan kicks on and throws off the idle trim too...

Are you guys having any kind of delayed start issues with this big of injector?

Hey Drewdq, I'm going to give your numbers a shot. I messed around with it last night. I got the car to idle around 14.7ish-14.9. At WOT it's still lean.

Also are my Fuel Trims calculations correct? It reads .1008 the hole time. All three Trims.

If its idling in that range and the trims are not moving, more than likely the trims are spot on. Seeing that you're still going "lean at WOT" leads me to believe that you NEED to tune your fuel map. Not to take anything away from you but do you honestly know what you're doing?

As far as tuning, I do know what I'm doing. Have tuned my car and numerous others. As far as Scaling injectors on an evo, I'm pretty sure I asked the question because I was confused or did not know the answer.

As you can see my question was simply if my fuel trims had/have the right calculation in the Evoscan Data file.

And my first attempt to scale, my idle was at 18:1,19:1 and the fuel trims still read .1008

Okay that's good to know. Don't want a blown Evo on the side of the road.

Several people have had issues with the trims not moving in EvoScan. One way I solved it on my Evo was to enable the rear O2 both in the Tephra mods and also in the periphery bits. Somehow the rear 02 coding interfers with the ability of the ECU to report trims. Let me know if you need help with this. For now, are you using any Tephra mods and/or disabling via periphery bits specifically anything with the rear o2 sensor?

I can also give you the updated xml for the trims that is better than the one evoscan comes with.

If your "all other bolt ons" includes a hard intake pipe you are going to have idle and LTFT low trim issues. You need to log the MAF Hz and get it below 40Hz for the LTFT low to adjust.

Again, If one of the super ECU programmers on here can find the LTFT switching points, we can all make the minor adjustment from 40 Hz to 50ish and instantly our idle problems should be solved.

Oh and since you have an VIII you need to disconnect the battery and clean any residual memory before your trims will start to adjust.

I still have the stock intake. I'm going to try and disconnect the battery and retry logging.

Thanks guys. Wicked E whenever you have a chance send me an IM.
