EvoScan Error

I get this error when trying to log. Once I installed the AEM UEGO it worked with my serial to USB converter, but now it gives me this error. It logs for a few seconds then it disengages and gives me the error in the picture. How do I get it to log again?

If the wideband isn't plugged into your laptop and you have the wideband checked in the evoscan list it will error out.

^ Yes, that is the error you will receive when your WB is disconnected and you try to log with the WB checkmark on. Make sure your WB is properly connected by checking with Hyper Terminal.

It is connected properly. It logs for 1-3 seconds, and sometimes logs until I hit stop when i'm just sitting there, but once I stomp on the gas it gives me the error.

I bought the cable from Fast Freddie, and got a Serial to USB converter from Radio Shack. Running on Windows Vista, but I have it running as XP. It shows up on EvoScan, I select the right Com Port and go into the Device Manager and make sure it's the same one. Dang error!

Which version of evoscan? Also make sure that you hook up the serial to USB before you even start evoscan. This has happened to me before and I just turned everything off, restarted the computer, plugged tactrix and serial to USB in then started evoscan and it worked like that, and that is the way I have been doing it ever since...

It worked. I turned on the computer plugged in the USB from the ECU, and USB from the AEM wideband plug-in that I bought from you (Freddie) and Turned the car on then opened up EVOscan. Worked like a charm. Thank you!

according to the error message I see, it's an internal error, that means it's an error in the actual application (evoscan).

I had a lot of problems getting it to log both the wide band and ecu at the same time. After a week of blue screens and many other errors I figured out the problem. I was using a $5 ebay usb to serial cable that was not cutting it. I bought a $40 Belkin cable from Staples and all my problems went away. Everything is working like a champ now! Time for Mellon Tuning to work there magic!
