The formula in Evoscan for the Defi Map sensor is (x-96)*0.21875 to read in PSI.

If you're not reading 0 with the engine off, you will have to change the 96.
Make the formula for logging boost just x. Log the value with the engine off. This will give you the correct value if 96 doesn't work where you are located.

I have a Defi Racer Series 52mm Boost gauge, I just tapped the signal and connected it to the ECU. I have a JDM 8MR using a 3 plug ECU, so I used pin 92 on the ECU.

Now I can log boost and run the boost gauge with the one MAP sensor

I have a HKS RS DB boost gauge and it seems to have the same specs/output voltage etc as the Defi gauge/sensor.

I would like to use the above formula to log the boost but in need it to read in Bar, Please advise what changes I have to do to the formula to log in "Bar".

Thx

Simply divide the result by 14.5

Wow that simple

So the formula will then be..

(x-96)*0.21875/14.5 (is this exactly how I would enter it into Evoscan?)

Thx

Please help.....

Ok so I have my signal from the HKS boost sensor (5Volt with a 2bar boost gauge) wired into the Ecu on pin 73.

I first log the raw value with the rpm at 0, and I find it shows a value of 57.

I then change the above formula to
(x-57)*0.21875/14.4493.
I do a log with rpm = 0, and it shows me 0 bar on the dot.
I start the car and at idle I am seeing about -.35 to -.4 bar. hich is about right when compared to my gauge.

I then do a 3rd gear log but my logged values are too low.
My gauge shows a spike to 1,6 bar and settles to 1.5 bar before dropping down to 1,45 bar at redline.
Below is what I logged in "Bar" using the formula above...

Code:

Not sure if this has any bearing...
I am at 5600 feet above sea level and my Baro on the car shows 0,84 Bar, is there an offset of some sort I need to add in the formula to compensate?

Thx..

Yes

the formula is for ca. 1bar, to compensate for your value you have to add the difference, so

value_new = value_original_formula + (1-0.84).

Anyway this formula yields for a Defi sensor. I'm not sure that the scaling is the same for the HKS.

The best is if you log the raw signal and you compare it with the reading of the gauge. Try 2 or 3 points where to pressure is quite contant (e.g. full throttle in 6th gear @ 2500rpm + idle)
