Opinions on tune...

Went to the local 1/8 mile track today and ran a best of 8.35@83.16 on a 1.85 60'. I launched at 5k and used nlts. This is the first time I have actually launched the car so I know the 60' could be better and I was shifting only moderately quick. Mods are Buschur tbe, air filter, forge mbc, and self tune. Boost was at 22 on the first pass and 23 on the last pass. I added a bit of fuel after the first pass where it was a bit lean for my taste. Track temp was 95*F, 50 percent humidity, and 200ft elevation. I think there may be more power in the timing and mivec. Opinions...

with a 9 you should be in the high 7's for sure email me your tune file I wanna look at that too. Your timing seemed jumpy to me, for not having any knock. Also if you NLTS there is no reason for you to be in the 7's.

My 8 w/ a 9 turbo swap runs 7.51@91mph you should be faster than this.

Rom sent. The et had a lot to due with my driving. This was the first time at the track with my Evo and I am used to launching my Talon which is way different. The tune that was on the car when I bought it looked terrible and I have been trying to rework it. The timing probably needs the most help.

yup i agree its soo much easier to diagnose a tune from looking at pics of the maps or a picture of a third gear pull in evoscan

fuel still looks a bit rich in some areas - whats ur AFR on the WB?

MIVEC map is the JDM RS map right? - should be good (never tried it)

timing looks high lol - what fuel is this?

what boost and load at peak and redline?

any knock?

Fuel is 93, boost is at 23 tapering to around 17-18, and no knock. Load usually spikes to 260-270, and then goes 240 and tapers off to 210 up top. That is a slightly moddified JDM RS mivec map. AFR is consistent at about 11.2-3 leaning out a little to 11.5-6 up top. I also have lean spool disabled. I hosted the logs above if you missed them, If you can't dl them I can post screen shots.

Looks ok but try to get that lean spot up top down to your normal 11.3ish afr.

Leave lean spool disabled in my opinion and ur AFRs are fine @ 11.2/3

i am suprised you dont see knock those timing values are high. plugs?

have u tried loading ur log into the evoscan HP/TQ calculator to see how ur looking?

I have lean spool disabled. I am using NGK LFR7AIX, that were installed on Saturday. I was having an intermittent misfire right after spool and found out that the previous owner used BPR7ES plugs when I pulled them out. I did not log hp/tq so Evoscan won't graph it unless I'm doing it wrong. I attached a screen shot of 3rd gear log from 5.5k to 7.5k from my 3rd pass Sunday. There are a few counts of knock up top on that log, but none on the other logs.

the tool for calculation HP and TQ is in a different thread in the ecuflash section. its a whole excel file where u input data from your log and it calculates HP and TQ quite accurately.

check it out and use it to see where ur at. your tune looks fine from this standpoint (kinda hard to see whats up from my end).

can you post a log from 3000 to 7500 on the mapping feature in evoscan. highlight load, RPM, timing advance, WB AFRs and boost if possible.
