CAS codes seem to be periphery related, set the other peripheries we dont normally use the same as the 9653 and its all the same deal.

Hello,

the evo 8 ecu is working with the dsm stock sensors ? with the DSM TB tps and idle step without any calibration ? Just the inejctors and MAF sensor need to be calibrate ?

So, here's a question from my buddy, who's trying the 1g-Evo-Ecu-Swap:

Hi,
I`ve tried to install a Evo8 Ecu in my 1G Eclipse.
But it just doesn`t want to work like it should!

Every sensor is fine, Evoscan is connecting like it should, I can flash and reflash the ecu as wished.

But: its not driving the injectors?
the stock Eclipse ECU gives +12V to the injectorwire as soon as you turn the key to ignition, the MPI Relay is directing +12V to the other side of the injectors.

so: igintion is on the injectors see: 12V on one wire 12V on the other, so from wire to wire theres 0V (injector is off) when you start the car the ecu is grounding its 12V so 0-12V the injectors see: 12V

With the Evo Ecu its grounded the whole time, so Injectors see 12V as soon as the ignition is on, starting (cranking) isn`t changing anything at all.
But: Every wire to the ecu that should have 12V does have 12V so why is the ecu not able to deliver the 12V signal to the injectors?

Anybody had a problem like that before?
I`m totaly out of guesses.

Thanks Guys

Finally picked up a o3 ECU and clipped all 4 Evo plugs from a 3G eclipse earlier this week. Tomorrow the GVR4 goes down to get the suspension done, then back to the garage for the Evo ECU swap. Will update over the next week.

This is an awesome thread! I'm waiting for the kinks to be worked out as this would be great for my DSM. I assume that this will only work with ECU Flash, right? Crap! I just sold my old Tactrix cable last week.

The only thing I've changed on my 1G is the computer.

Yes of course. The 1G MAF and injectors are not the same as the Evo8 stuff. You need to do some initial tuning at moderate load levels to get the MAF scaled correctly, and the injectors scaled correctly. After that, you can tune for power. I think that's what you're asking.

yes it was my question, and thank you ! so If i have MAF sensor from a Galant just open the Galant rom and copy to the Evo ecu the Galant MAF sensor scaling and will work well ?

I can't confirm that for sure, but assuming it will copy over, it's at least a good starting point.

This is assuming all the values are relative to each other. All of these fields are charts. So you need to understand what your X and Y axis is for each chart, so that you understand what the value represents in the cells.

For example if you have a chart talking about money. If your Y axis is Pennies on one chart (The galant), and your Y axis is Dollars on the other chart (the Evo). You can't just plug the values from the Galant cell in to the Evo cell, because "100 pennies" is a lot less real value than "100 dollars"

Hope that helps rather than confuses the issue.

I went back through every post and double checked all pin connections for the 91+/Evo pinout and have made note of progressive changes since there is no unified diagram that has all the changes implemented as of yet.
I am also going to diagram the OBDII connection the way Diver had done it in the picture with flash pin 7 connected to 62 and negative/positive coming from 101/102 or 106/107, in addition to the OBDI connection pin 79.

Can someone verify these changes for me.

Evo 19- DSM 6
Evo 43-DSM 104
Evo 18-DSM 67
Evo 5-DSM 68

I am on the last 9 solder connection at the moment in the Galant and have to hook up the OBD connectors but that is it. I have a bit of luck with my GVR4 in that I have an Evo MAF, Evo Injectors, a 16G and Evo pistons, so I am going to flash a totally factory map, increase the max load, and control boost with a Lower Shores MBC. I still have the original Evo map from my 03' so that's whats going in the GVR4 for start up with slight changes.

Will report tomorrow on success/failure.

I finished the wiring and switched the wires I labeled in the previous post for the 1991+ vehicles. Using a 04 VIII base map I included the periphery settings and disabled the immobilizer. The ECU took the initial flash without a problem. I do not have a intake pipe which will fit my Evo MAS so I am resetting the MAS settings for the 2G MAS I have installed and will try and fire it up.

EDIT: I do not have a "MAF ADDER" table. I am stuck.

I'm finishing up the soldering too but ran into a bump.

I have DSM 6 & 14 going to Evo 19. Evo 19 is for the Volume Air Flow and IDK what DSM 6 & 14 are. Seems with the revisions both those wires are going to one. Some help please.
