no last value.

i am not sure what the point of having ignition timing ABOVE fuel cut?!?!?

maybe they tested them out to 11k rpm? and then settled on 7606rpm??

so no 94170015? Ill try 96530706 again last time I tried it the car didnt idle well and liked to stall when quick on the brakes. Everything else in the all the tables I have defined in both roms were the same.

My car was originally an 96420008 car that I tried both 94170015 and 96530706 with and had more success with with the earlier ROM. Im running it now with the V5.10 and SD patches etc.

So what would be the possibility of paying Tephra to make a custom designed 94170015 rom? As soon as my GM IAT gets here I'll be playing with the SD conversion on my current 94170015 that runs tephra mod 5.10, but even in that mod release there are a lot of "extras" that I don't even bother with, so more than likely I'll integrate only the knock light features into a stock rom and apply the SD patch, but the bigmap feature would be very nice to increase resolution, especially in the cruising/part throttle problem areas I've been reading about.

I think there's still a bunch of us 0015 guys out here that would just enjoy the benefits of having bigmap with whatever combination of stock rom/mod 5.10 for the time being. I've been trying 96530006 on my friend's '03 Evo, and cold idle holds fine, just likes to stall once it warms up and I really hate dealing with the stepper tables (and really don't want to go through that mess on mine either) lol.

I think we should at least keep 94170015, cuz its a USDM VIII ROM and I think we should have at least one USDM VIII ROM.

96530006 is a EDM ROM right?

Not needed. 9653 works great you just need to take the time and get it configured correctly.

In the end I am making three different ROM's from tephra's v7 final distribution to make it easy for people so it's just plug and chug

This is what i dont get, why do we need to force a rom on that takes time to configure and doesn't just work? Why not just have 1 more rom that we all know works without issue? I fully support the idea of keeping 94170015 in the patch stream.

Although I don't care to have bigger tables.....I too believe that having the 94170015 ROM supported would be very beneficial.

Not only does this rom work without making it work, but DSM guys can easily run it as well.

+1

However, if I could get rid of this throttle hang then I would be all set with 96530006.

maybe because it take a lot of effort to make a updated rom, thus the fewer roms required the easier for the one doing the work.

say for instance I was a carpenter, I'd rather build one house than a dozen all required to meet various code requirements of different jurisdictions.

makes it a little easier to accept donations that may or not be there.

If someone takes the time to make 96530706 work as SMOOTHLY as 94170015 does now, I'm all for it. I certainly don't have the patience or time to have to f*ck with EVERY 96530706 rom to make the end user happy with his tune. As much as everyone who obviously doesnt own an evo8 would like to assume, 96530006 has flaws. I understand the concept of less ROM's to mod, I just feel the 94170015 is more stable....currently. Personally, I'd LOVE one rom for 8's and one rom for 9's. Unfortunately, the rom everyone chose for the 8's can be sooo difficult to work with at times. The 94170015 rom only had a knock sensor sensativity issue with modded evo's but once we found the knock multiplier tables the issue was no more. Hopefully we can have the same happen for the 9653 rom soon.

I will also be doing a 96260009 rom (for twin bcs cars) so u can try that as well...

96530006 has been around for a while and really the last 2 or 3 days is the first time i've heard of people having issues with it.

Probably because people are being forced to, with the elimination of 94170015 with current mods. They are just showing their concern since they will have little choice unfortunately. I always had those issues but never used it because 94170015 was available and extremely stable and reliable.

Supposedly money isn't a motivator, but if you were to incorporate 94170015 into the list of fully supported ROMs, I am quite certain that fundage will readily come available.

Those of us with the first US Evos have enjoyed this rom with nearly no issues. The EDM rom seems to have issues on USDM cars.

I realize the need to have as few roms as possible to aid in the haste of which they can be supported, but the differences between EDM and USDM are too vast to not have seperation.

(goes on knees with hands clasped looking up with puppy dog eyes and pouty lips)
P, P, Please make the 94170015 fully supported.

I have had only one issue with the 9653 and only on one car. It wouldnt idle and had this weird intermittent miss at about 2k. Switched to the 9417 and it was golden. 9653 also is the only current ROM that we can use if we do an Evo ECU in a DSM and avoid crank/cam sensor codes. Supporting both with big maps would be cool, but there arent any issues with 9653 that cant be cured from what I have seen.

Throttle hang and the like are all end user issues and not ROM related. Out of curiousity Applaud, what are some of the issues you are talking about? I am curious as to what else I might have yet to see.
