TephraMod V7
I figured I'd familiarize myself more with tuning the SD v7 patch today (my friend's been bugging me for weeks now to try it so we can pop it on his eclipse and toss his maft setup) and was able to get all my closed loop trims well in check, eliminate the annoying idle drop when I'd let off the gas at a stop, and smoothed out the warm ignition start issue that I was seeing (extra timing and adjusting the 500rpm section of the VE table worked wonders). Biggest issue I'm having now (and I can't really call it an issue) is (A) the throttle tip-in leans out, and (B) upon entering boost using the same AFR's from my old tuned map (28psi max at 11.3afr) it won't drop any richer than 13.5afr using 100% settings in the VE tables. I only did quick shots in 3rd gear up to ~15psi of pressure, but it never richened up. Am I correct in assuming that I should adjust those 100%VE sections down in order to enrich the mixture to what it should normally be? I could always adjust the main AFR tables to get the numbers I want, but I'm hoping this approach will be much easier than retuning the entire map, especially since my LC-1 is acting screwy the last couple hours.
Also, anyone know off the top of their head what pins/wire colors on the MAF plug are for the IAT sensor? I'm going to keep my IAT on that plug for now, a little easier to get to.

I noticed in Eric's livemap SD rom, that the MAT/IAT is from the fuel temp ADC....I currently have my car tuned using the factory IAT input. How can I set the livemap ROM to do likewise?
Also while I'm here, I have a question regarding o2 feedback, the different trims, the closed loop afr's, and all in conjunction with the VE table...
I've gotten my idle, cruise, and part throttle feedbacks all within +2%, which I thought was pretty good considering, but the only downfall was I had to use the VE table in order to get them there. Now in my previous post above I mentioned throttle tip in is lean and slowly I've been realizing that my whole table is off by a good 1-2 AFR points. That's probably the cause of my tip-in lean out, but should it be? I realize the whole table in general has kind of "changed" in the way that I and the ecu now looks at it, and so far in order to bring my full-throttle afr's back in check I actually swapped in a stock high octane map. It's a hair on the rich side but it's at least safe for tuning...all except for the throttle crossover point. I've adjusted the crossover, but that only changes how much I press in on the throttle before I go lean lol. If I end up lowering the standard "14.7 and into boost" areas I can enrich it to work properly, but I keep thinking that the VE table shouldn't affect only the closed loop afr control...correct? Might I be better off trying to adjust the maf scaling instead since it still has to be accessed for IPW? Either way I can make it work the way I need to, just looking for input as to the best way to accomplish the goal...this is definitely not a "plug and play" feature lol.

Go to my second post and click on the link for the jcsbanks SD post, mrfred lays out how to do it in that post. It will be the same for that ROM.
Alright I am probably doing something obviously stupid, but anyways...
I have a Evo 8 rom id: 96940011
I flashed the car with 96530706 and added my immobilizer string, but when I did, it converts it to hex (is that right). I also installed the Jdm map sensor, I thought this map was already setup for it, but when I try and start the car it just turns over, and doesn't seem to get any fuel. Is that the immobilizer working, or is there something else wrong.
Thanks for the noob help,
-Will

Even if the scaling was off for your MAP sensor it would still try to start, and maybe sputter a few times. But IIRC, the scaling in the rom is set for a JDM9/USDMX MAP sensor.
Immobilizer...make sure both your immobilizer hex and your immobilizer code match your stock rom's. Currently the immobilizer hex in this patch is the one for the '03 model, so make sure to update that too. Also, don't forget to add "0x" in front of your hex codes (example: my immobilizer hex is 0040, so I would input it as "0x0040").

It idled fine, so I believe the scaling is correct.

Thanks for the help, I had everything right but the actual immobilizer #. When I would input the number it would convert to Hex which was 0b55 or something, which was wrong. I had to manually hold "]" to get it to the right number. It now starts perfectly.

A quick heads up for anyone on the SD patch, you may want to bump your idle up for if you have to turn your heater on, rpm on mine dropped to around 400 and almost stalled out when I came to a stop.

I don't see anything about setting a specific "Immobilizer Hex" for an Evo IX, so can someone tell me if this is correct? My code of 4301 is correct, but I just want to make sure the Hex (0068) is right.
