I'm wondering if my VE is getting a little out of whack since its getting colder out (was 40-50°F when I tuned it, its 10-20 now), and my IAT sensor scaling is goofed up. I'm logging IAT and seeing -2 to -4 when its about 10°F out and I'll have to look back and see what it was when I was originally tuning it. I used all of your scaling values mrfred, was that not the right thing to do?

What 9653 ROM variant are you using?

Are you logging F or C?

It was pointed out on another thread that 96531706 and 96533706 used slightly different methods for the IAT stuff and you log on different channels.

96533706 has mrfred's patch applied, 96531706 doesn't.

As for the MAF Comp vs Coolant temp on 96530006, this is what I have:

Code:
	<table name="Warmup Enrichment 1"address="3722"  category="Engine Coolant Temperature Trim" type="2D" level="2" scaling="Mult128(8)">
		<table name="Engine Temp" address="69d8" type="Y Axis" elements="9" scaling="Temp"/>
	</table>

	<table name="Warmup Enrichment 2" address="3712" category="Engine Coolant Temperature Trim" type="2D" level="2" scaling="Mult128(8)">
		<table name="Engine Temp" address="69d8" type="Y Axis" elements="9" scaling="Temp"/>
	</table>

I'm logging °F, the fomula in evoscan is 1.8*x-40, logging MUT09. I'll go through and double-check my settings I guess, I am using 96531706. I copied over the values from mrfred's original MAT thread as the original values in 96531706 were not the same. *edit* the logs from this morning indicate values of 0 to -6. Ironically it is about -3°F out here today, but I swear it was off when it was a bit warmer. In logging in the past, the MAT sensor will typically be above ambient until WOT, since it gets heat-soaked on top of the motor...

What does the standard 96531706 come setup for anyways?

Thx for the warmup tables, I'll check those out and see if anything looks goofy.

Copying values from a ROM with an xml file set for deg C to a ROM with an xml file setup for deg F would definitely screw up the scaling.

These don't seem to work for me on 96531706, the coolant temp side displays properly but I get blanks on the right side.

As a reference to a previously asked question about stability of AFRs with cold temps.

It was 9F this morning. WOT showed AFRs of 11.0-11.1.
I beleive when I tuned it, it was about 40F and I tuned it for 11.5-11.6.

I really haven't messed with the fuel table much since getting it tuned in initially and the MAP VE table has been 1:1 the whole time. The engine VE table may have been changed though, I'm not sure. I have switched a lot of maps around in the past 3 weeks, so there may have been changes in the WOT fueling that I'm not realizing.

Anyway, it's something I'll keep an eye on but it may be an issue of the enrichment tables not being quite right for speed density. 1 more week and I'll start collecting some actual data. I usually see temps from about -10F to 110F throughout the year. I should be able to get some good data over the next...year.

Do you have the Mult128(8) scaling?

If not, just switch it to percent128 8bit and it should be the same.

Seems like we should make it standard to have all values in ECUFlash in SI (as it looks like that's what Mitsubishi used) units to avoid possible problems.

I understand now, I didn't realize that your original one was setup for °F and the 96531706 rom in the tephrav7 thread was setup for °C. I'll double check my isht

I'm dinking with the -20° timing fix at the same time, I had some goofy xml, sorry. All fixed now, and I switched it to percent128.

Trying to piece together this metric vs si MAT thing, might be the cause of my problems; I haven't had to mess with these Warmup tables in the past...

I'll have to run a few logs and see how much different temps really are. Since I cheated when I did this swap (put the IAT in the general stock location of in the intake pipe, doing a weird turbo upgrade soon so why do the work twice) and used the standard MAF plug for the input instead, it should be relatively easy for me to log actual ambient temp and compare the log to what ambient really is to see how far off it might be.

So does the original rom come setup for a GM IAT or something else? I'll have to dink with it tomorrow, left my power cord at the office.

Yep, setup for GM IAT. Is your sensor located in the UICP or IM?

on the IM, right next to the MAP sensor (tapped the extra bung that's on there from the factory when I had it off about a year ago).

That ought to read at least a few degrees F warmer than ambient after the engine warms up. Best way to check accuracy is to log temp in the morning before starting the car. You can compare it to coolant temp.
