Do me a favor, and report back to verify if the fuel trims still adjust with this patch please... I am sure it will, and it may have been covered in the other thread, but please report back here also...

I don't think it is a part rattling issue, but actual knock. I think timing changes have already hurt drivability and I really don't want to retard it any more if I can avoid it. I have LOTS of logs if anybody wants to see.

I too am having this problem, is there any fix for it? Or just raise the knock sensitivity? If that is the only fix can some one please tell me how to do it and how much to raise it? Also one more thing i have been trying to get me fuel trims zeroed. I have got the idle zeroed by using bat. voltage but the mids were still -12.446 so i add 12% to the injectors size and it did not change the mid they are still at -12% again any help would be great.

Swoln, the XML is jacked, make sure you delete the old V7 data before you place the new XML into the rommetadata folder...

I upgraded to an Alienware M15x, so there is no old V7 romdata except for the .bin that I sent myself from my old computer... Are you saying I need to delete the old V7 and the new one will work?

Hi I'm running V7 on my edm 96530006 with gm map sensor (sensor I got from bay some Mickey mouse one but looks like GM no stickers tho) I had to run loom to ecu to plug it in map sensor (emd 8 dont have map sensor) I also rescale evo scan to read 0 Psi on engine off to 0.057315*x-14.5 which is odd already ;/ . My question is do I have to change the scaling in XML and do I have to change the XML to read scaling from GM3 bar be cos looks to me like is reading now scaling for JDM map sensor . Thx

Hmm, I dumped the original .bin in the recycle bin, and took a snapshot of the rometadata. Did I foul something up ?

I guess that's fine, but I am not a fan of second guessing what's going into the car, and my previous download had, what looked like, the correct data. I guess it makes me wonder what else is missing, or deleted by accident. Thanks to all who helped...

I'm now running the v7 rom and all seems good, but I've copied the fuel and timing over from my standard rom but now I'm getting lots of knock and have started to reduce the timing to remove it, but I'm wondering if I've missed copying something else across? I've done the injector sizes and latencies etc. my wide band is reading around the 11.5 range.

At the moment I'm assuming that its just normal to experience this and that a remap is always going to be required. I'm also using the 1 byte load and not the ecuload is this correct?

Cheers
Andy

Previous versions of v.7 were done in "increments" so to speak, each different version of v.7 had add-on xml's that were used in conjunction with the stock 96530006 rom. Later releases combined all the xml's into one main version. Delete or remove any previous versions and use the new releases.

Part of v.7 is the new "big maps", so make sure your maps are scaled properly to what your values are from your old map. It's not exactly a copy and paste setup anymore, so if these are off anywhere you could see the type of problems you're experiencing.
