No in that XML definition actually 0 means off, you shouldn't be changing the EGR periphery bit if you use this method.

Any solutions on why I can't get my BISS method of adjusting Idle to drop any further? Basically the screw is all the way in and I can only get to 1k RPM. DO I have have steps messed up so far that it won't adjust?

Fast_Freddie - I screwed up and associated the download to my ECU 8859013, rather than 15 and now the XML file is not being seen or I should say the only thing that appears in Ecuflash is the ROM information.

How do I delete entirely so I can re-associate properly? (Sorry if this makes no sense...)

Also, when I am using Notepad (v6.1 in Windows 7) to view the xml or rom data, the character are gibberish. What font should I select or what do I do to fix this ? THANKS!!!

Fred,
I have attached a log I took this afternoon of start to warm-up. My steps seem high but not sure. I also get a wierd issue at slow down and lights where the car loses rpm and wants to stall. Seems to be brought on by having the rear defrost on. SOunds wierd but I was able to duplicate it in my garage with AC/wipers/defrost on. Log entries 3312-3336. Could only get it once though, it recovers and then does fine.

When adjusting the BISS I can get her down to 1000 rpm then it bottoms out. Interesting if the Idle drops toward 900 the oil light start to flicker.

I am running E85 if that helps.

Log of car start to warm up:

Current 96530706 ROM:

Have you tried 9417 yet? It know it will run on a 2005, just do the same steps you did when you converted to 9653 and you will be set.

9417 works much better on USDM cars and idles perfect without having to adjust anything!

Download it here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/7597107-post2.html

Will do. Didn't realize the 9417 ROM was fully mapped now, lost contact with it for awhile. Any disadvantages to the 9417 ROM, at this time?

Hey guys.

I was wondering if someone can help? I have loaded my ECU up with V7 - 96530706 and I cant seem to get the car to fire. It turns over, but never fires up.

I have trasfered all my immobiliser data and fuel/timing maps (used the big map translator) and injector data over.

Im currently running 90550001 on my Evo 8.

What am I missing to get this running correctly?

I switched and there is nothing that is not defined that you need to make it work great. From what I have posted the XML's are almost identical.

Sorry it's hard to understand the problem. The easiest way to "reset" is to install ecuflash again. You don't need to uninstall anything. While installing, it asks you what directory to install in. The default directory is "c:/program files/openecu/ecuflash" or program files (x86) if you're 64 bit.

When you're at that point during the installation, just stick the number 2 after ecuflash. This will install it fresh in to "c:/program files/openecu/ecuflash2"

From there, if you download a v7 package and unzip it, you only need to copy the .xml files to your c:/program files/openecu/ecuflash2/rommetadata/mitsubishi/evo folder. You don't need to copy the ROM, and you don't need to make any xml modifications.

once that's done, open ecuflash from the new install, and open the ROM that you downloaded in the package.

Does V7 allow rescaling the fuel and ignition maps? My AFR seems to be all over the place after I rescaled the maps. I made sure everything was the same as my V5 maps.

Is it because of the new larger maps that the runs throught the maps a little differently? In first gear the AFR jumps around 14.4-15.1, even slowly rolling into boost. And in 2nd, 3rd and on the AFR seems to be working fine.

Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
