I really do think it is the drivers though. I reinstalled them and it still didn't work. I reinstalled them a second time and then they worked.

Like I said earlier, I was in the same situation as you. I was using my friends tactrix that was an older one. Once I bought my own, a new one, it didn't work at all until I kept messing with the drivers.

It's most likely the drivers in your case if both ecuflash and evoscan don't work.

Try reinstalling the drivers that are already in your evoscan/evoscan 2.x/usb drivers/x86 folder. I think this is what did it for me.

Unplug the cable
Try removing all of the instances of ECUFlash and evoscan
restart
go to the device manager and show hidden devices
Remove all of the instances of the openport or 1.3u etc drivers (there should be at least 3 I think)
Restart again
Install Ecuflash
Plug in cable

+1.

Except, you can actually remove all the openport/tactrix drivers in the add/remove programs. Not need to go into device manager.

FYI there are threads on this. You either need to pull a pin or leave it alone and don't worry. My abs and acd lights flash below 10mph but I can still log data fine.

Ok, well i dont care about the lights flashing.

Im more concerned with the fact that i cant connect. I went in and deleted all the drivers and everything with no luck. Still no connection. Im almost regretting buying this cable.

Have you tried submitting a support ticket on the EvoScan site? Hamish usually responds in a timely manner.

try another lap top, maybe a friends, or use a friends cable on your laptop to rule out an issue there.
