Let's see your fully tuned timing curve
You can't just read a bunch of forums and magically become a good tuner. It does take experience and a lot of knowledge about the basics. Half of the stuff you read on the internet isn't even right anyway. I like seeing those who want to get their feet wet in this stuff, learn tuning, efi stuff with basic and inexpensive things like megasquirt for example. Just don't assume you can spend 6h reading interweb howto's and have that stack up to 2,000h of dyno and tuning experience.

But with practice comes experience.

guys, lets not make this into a philosophical discussion on tuning and who shares and who doesn't. Like anything else, this is some peoples business. Some times small tricks are what make people money as it helps them stand out. I honestly understand why some people don't share. Just because we use open source tools doesn't mean we need everything we do to be open source. That said, i think everyone should contribute ($) to those that do enable us to do what we do.
Also, while reading forums isn't how you become a good tuner it is how you become a tuner. Yes, you need experience but no, you shouldn't venture into tuning without reading, a lot, before touching a car. That's what i did anyway.
Now... back to timing curves!!!

Here is my current timing map, it is not 100% done because I have been lazy for like the last 3 months, and have been focused on my Talon more than the Evo. It really only needs some smoothing since the car won't take much more timing. Mods are BR turbo back, BR air filter, MBC@24psi tapering to 20 or so, 93 oct, knock free. The only logs I can find are 2 from my 1/8mi. passes in Oct. I will log some 3rd gear pulls tomorrow and post them. Ran best of 7.92@89 in the 1/8th slow shifting and running out 3rd(6spd).
doesnt the knock cause your timing to retard any way maybe not to 0 but to 1 by like a degree or so?? becase ive seen my car pull a degree on 2 knock one in a while and on 1 knock count aswell but very rarely...
I like 0 or -1 at peak, if not my car hates any more and knocks, messing up the rest of the pull... again it all goes back to what your car wants. When R/TErnie and I were doing the base tune on the red his car loves 11.6-11.7 afr, mine on the other hand likes it a tad richer like 11.4-11.5, it is amazing that just dropping the AFRs that little bit helped keep the motor that tad bit cooler to prevent knock...

Here is the complete list of logs of my car this year:

It will only be available for 10 downloads so someone needs to host it if they would. Also before anyone gets the wrong idea about my last comment, I am not trying to say I am an artist. I meant that what happens happens and if it works it works
