I can post the xml i have that works with evoscan - still working on getting all the new tables found for 94170015 into it.
Post the magic xml code Travman! Keep in mind that the only addresses that evoscan needs are the fuel and timing tables plus alternates.

Travman. Looks like you are from the 'burgh. I was born there. Needless to say a Steelers fan.

Travis and I compared xmls ....seems we were both on about the same track. He does have a better defined 8859 than me.

My version of 9417 is about as complete as we are going to get. I am learning how to read rom code and I understand how various roms are compared to find similar tables. Hopefully I will be able to keep 9417 up with the v7 Joneses.

Think about it....3 roms to control the evo 7, 8, and 9s.

It is awesome 8859 for the 9s, 9653 for 05/06 8s and 9417 for 03 and below 8s and 7s.

I would still like to see more cases of 9417 tried on an 05 8. So far there's only been two cases, one where 9417 on an 05 didnt work, and one where 9417 on an 05 worked and ran better then 9653.

If 9417 worked well (or better then 9653), then it would be great, as there would only be two ROMs needed for all USDM CT9A EVOs.

edit- and i think you meant to say "04 and below 8s and 7s"

Been running 9417 on my 05 8 since it was posted. It runs much better than 9653, and required no "tuning" like in the cold start thread created. I loaded up 9417 with injector lat/scaling (1450's) and my startup IPW (e85), and have been good since then.

I have had one issue, but not because of tephra. I installed a gm 3 port, and I turned off error correction and threw in wgdc someone posted up for 23psi or so, and the thing fluctuates like crazy. Will build until 17+/- and then fluctuate between 20-17, sometimes it does it 20-22, sometimes 15-20, other times the boost just shoots to 25 and keeps climbing. It is hooked up correctly (verfied 3 times tonight), and I replaced 90% of my charge piping clamps with t-bolt ones. If anyone has an idea let me know!

I don't have a log recently that shows my load since I don't like hitting boost too much with the way it's acting lol. Is there a way to disable that, or override it to see if that's the issue.

Also, I have noticed when I added my boost adder (14.6), I clicked on the boost adder for load and it is like 2242 then gets cut off. The gear dependent maps only go to 22.3psi too. Do I do 14.6+8.2=23? Thanks for the help.

I have had good results bringing that value to 170 or 180.

That was it. My wgdc wasn't high enough (just started tuning gm 3 port) and it was hitting under 200 load. Causing it to go back and forth between my wgdc map, and the 100%wgdc<200 load.

Got her at 25 flat right now, going for 28-30 but my IC piping blew off. Guess I need to tighten down my t-bolt clamps a little more, or get new couplers. I am trying to keep the stock ones on since it makes the engine bay look a lot more stock-ish.

Thanks for the help!

Hey Tephra

Any reason why the 1byte gear and the RPM/speed are not working for this rom? Should they be logging correctly?

<DataListItem DataLog="Y" Color="" Display="Gear" LogReference="Gear" RequestID="40" Eval="x" Unit="units" MetricEval="" MetricUnit="" ResponseBytes="1" GaugeMin="0" GaugeMax="300" ChartMin="0" ChartMax="300" ScalingFactor="1" Notes="" Priority="5" Visible="False" />

<DataListItem DataLog="Y" Color="" Display="RPM_SPEED_RATIO_AVERAGE" LogReference="RPM_SPEED_RATIO_AVERAGE" RequestID="42" RequestID2="43" Eval="x/36.37" Unit="rpm/kph" MetricEval="" MetricUnit="" ResponseBytes="1" GaugeMin="0" GaugeMax="300" ChartMin="0" ChartMax="300" ScalingFactor="1" Notes="" Priority="1" Visible="False" />

Gear shows only "1" for 2nd and 3rd gear logs.

RPM Speed Ratio logs 747.2092384 or very occasionally 746 values.
