GM IAT (MAT) all over the place.. 200.. -8 F
I have not looked a the 9157 SD ROM yet. In 9653 there is a set up section to use either the fuel temp circut ( the default I believe) or the MAF IAT circut. If 9157 has this, check to see what circut the hex value is set for.
Ah. Well I'm at a loss. I'm really skeptical that mitsulogger will show anything different. The fact that it goes from 200 degrees to -8 is just too wide of a swing. Something's not right.
Should I try a different ROM? The 9653? Is there a lot of work involved with that to convert from 9417?
I was thinking about using a multimeter between pin 77 (connected and disconnected from ECU) to ground.. Can't hurt..

The ECU I'm using first came with 9417 but that rom doesn't work the greatest with DSMs, so I switched to 9653. Works fine.
I also double checked, and I am getting a reading on my car though the Intake Air Temperature request (3A) for the GM IAT through pin 77.

You're saying pin 77 is IAT, not fuel temp? Hmm, I can check that pretty easily. I'll log my MAT and unplug the MAS and see if the reading goes away.
Good thought. Thank you. That'll only take a second to test.
On the off chance that that's the case, can anyone tell me how to change the ROM so that it looks to the IAT instead of the Fuel Temp input? I'm not sure where to change it...
Thanks,
Tommy

Pin 77 is the fuel temp pin, but the one patch made it so you could just log it through the MAF's IAT request ID.
That method is actually how I tested mine. My MAF is unplugged now that I finally got my SD all dialed in today. Yay nice weather.

I don't understand the distinction. I don't know what a request ID is.
I'll still do the test, but I guess I'll have no idea what to do if unplugging the MAS changes my MAT reading.

That's awesome that you just responded to that question. I was out in my evo with my laptop, logging MAT. I unplugged the MAS and indeed my MAT was changing significantly. So I was just trying to figure out how to change the input when I received an e-mail notification.
I tried changing it to 11, and all is well now. It was my evoscan config.. awesome.
Thanks guys! Really appreciate it.

So now, running on the "option 3" speed density ROM, the car always idles pretty high. If it's warm and I start it, it will idle at 1500 RPM for 30 seconds or so, then it goes to about 2k, then it will start cycling between 2300 and 1800 RPM every 10-15 seconds. Very annoying.
I haven't tried a cold start yet.
Any thoughts?
MAT and MAP are logging as expected.
