Ultimate Alt Maps
Ignore the omni4bar version - they will be stripped out in the final version (but I need them for my car
)
If you would like any other maps included in the "altmap" now would be a good time to let me know
Just a teaser:

1 for DD (low boost)
2 for race mode (high boost)
3 for alt fuels/wmi/wi (full race setup)

Hey Dave, are you going to keep it PSI based as shown? ...say yes.....say yes...
I second the request for gear based Mivec as well...not having your kids though....but it would be entertaining to read how Bryan intends on explaining that one...

Nice, cant wait
How will you switch between tunes? With just two using the CC button, it's pretty obvious and you always know what map you're running. With 8 maps, it might be easy to lose count

No! Mivec can be different for different fuels. Advancing mivec in low loads can increase engine braking, so this setup can be used for race map. With mivec we can smooth power for our boost (for example our taget load is 220, so we set intake mivec to 10 in 240+ load cells). A lot of overlap can work as antilag and this also can be used in race setup!
so you think alt MIVEC maps is a bit of a waste of time?

The tacho displays which map your on, 0 being normal, 1-9 being the 1-9 altmaps...
I have also kept the TPS enable, but obviously you can only increment...
The enable map switching timer is also the disable timer, so once you stop pressing buttons and the timer expires the tacho goes back to normal AND the new altmap gets set.
It's pretty awesome, even if I do say so myself
- I am sure someone will put up a nice video of it...The only problem is remembering what altmap corresponds to what actual map, I think for 3+ altmap users they will need a "cheat sheet" in the car so they remember

ok so on the MIVEC, I still want to work out if a High/Low crossover would be better than full 1/2/3/4/5/6 gear maps..
Obviously its easier to code, but from a usability standpoint I think it also works better...
So for each altmap, there would:
MIVEC Intake #2 High Gear
MIVEC Intake #2 Low Gear
MIVEC Exhaust #2 High Gear
MIVEC Exhaust #2 Low Gear
And then there would be a single generic crossover rpm/mph for ALL the altmap sections to use...
Thats what I will do unless someone gives me a REAL good reason for full gear control...

Dave, I would think what you have outlined in post 13 is all thats needed re MIVEC.
How about a low gear spark map though. The VR4 and Legnum have this and I regularly use it as you can run more advance in the lower gears. Something to think about.
If you want a real blue-sky idea, how about a gear crossover for lean spool, or maybe just a disable in 4th/5th etc. I like lean spool btw, but never leave it at the stock settings.

mmmm I thought about a low gear timing map a while ago, but not sure if it will be that useful...
lean spool sux
I have yet to see a good argument for it
And yes I only say that because I haven't been bothered looking into how it works
