Speed Density IAT options
Ok I've seen a couple guys tap and mount in intake manifold now. Im just testing so I'm going to position it near the air filter to read close to what the MAF would read. I'm not really sold on SD so not making any changes that I can't reverse.
With the GM IAT scaling values - they are supposed to already be in celcius from spoolinup's site, but when I paste into the IAT table anything over 127*C (132*C to 150*C or the top 6 values in the table) is converted to 127*C when pasted in. The numbers cannot just be pasted in. What's going on there? tempscale and volts 16 are the scalings used.

do these temps seem correct. Setting this up for 1st time.
Air temp is around 60, car is fully warmed up and idling
"Air Temperature" = 68
"MAF Air Temp Scaled" = 84.2
What are "normal" temp ranges?
thanks

best way to compare is after letting the car sit overnight. turn the key to "on" and log with the motor not running. the reading from the gm sensor should be within 2 deg F of maf temp.
Im just wanting to double check that what is in my rom is correct before going much further on my new base tune.
Best bet is like mrfred listed above, compare it to a dead cold car vs ambient air temp. That is how I detected a failed IAT which read a constant 34*. What really matters is that if it gets hotter your reading does that, and if it gets cooler the same. if you know where your readings lay, you can adjust the IAT corrections quickly. That is if you don't want to spend too much time fiddling with what not.
