Not quite true. An engine is an engine; the laws of physics don't change from one engine to another. You can understand how to tune cars in general but not have the knowledge to tune a specific car with the software it uses.

 

Post a good log and we will see but there is no doubt that your so-called tuner is not an Evo specialist...

Well waiting on the new header to be installed since the one on the car had a crack in it but so far the car made 321awhp. The guy told me the torque but I zoned out when he said the hp bc I was in shock since the retard before me claimed 430awhp.....little off there buddy.

 

It may have made 430whp before he removed parts and sold to you. What all is done to the car?

It has the HKS GT35R turbo kit on it, cams, fuel system, and a tune. He stated Dyno Flash tuned it. Not sure if he is still around, and I hate to bash people, but I can say that Dyno Flash did my last EVO on a stock mail away tune.....horrible. It would surge up top in the rpm's. Either way, this kid I bought it from on here is full of crap all around. I drove from St. Louis to Tennessee for this car and when I arrived the Check Engine light was on and so was the ABS light in which he disclosed neither to me over the phone. He stated the check engine was bc the o2 was unplugged and the ABS was a possible unplugged sensor but he never got time to look into either. My financial institution shafted me and wouldn't allow me to cancel the transaction once I got there so it MADE it to where I had to take vehicle. Now I am stuck fixing this kids mess.....which he lied about everything.

Anyway, it has an HKS kit on it....lol

 

If it has a GT35 on it, then 430hp (dynojet) is totally possible on 93.

Maybe its your tuner once again not knowing how to tune evos.

 

Ill get the tune info when I get the car back, upload the info, and go from there. I dont think I can call the guy and tell him the car should be making way more.

 

Furthermore, if the tune is something that can be made better with an email tune, I would consider doing that.

You obviously learned that only experienced reputable tuners are worth it, so why taking the car to a guy that doesn't usually tune evo?

I know I dont post much and im not trying to threadjack here. But when I seen your mod list and turbo setup. Then seen 321awhp I about spit my Mt. Dew all over the computer screen. I have an 8 with nothing more then Megan TBE, Hallman Boost controller, Injen upic, licp, and intake and a Wally 255 and a tune. Stock turbo(25psi), cams, injecters ect... I made 328ish awhp/and 317tq on 93oct.

If your looking for email tuners there is some really good ones out there and then some not so good. It how I was tuned and am very pleased wth results. There is also a few great shops in the Chicago area.
