Need an XML

A friends Evo X was tuned by a reputable tuner who I won't name. It has a tehpra V2 ROM that was fully paid for, and the tuner won't give us his XML. And we can't flash the car with any other ROM's. The guy is extremely difficult to get ahold of for little fixes like cold start issues, so my friends wants to switch tuners, but can't unless we can define his current ROM, or bench flash the ECU back to accept regular ROM's.

If I provide the ROM, is there anyone that write an XML def? Thanks.

You just need access to the protective memory to make a full write to the ecu through the obd2. requires a registry edit on the laptop to do so.

Def tables for the v2 roms are made by David. What year is the Evo?

It's a 2014.

I have an 8, so I'm not familiar with the X stuff. You'll have to describe the registry edit to me, unless it's something in can google.

Make a reg entry file from notepad, ends in .reg with this in it if you want to flash over a v2 rom

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\OpenECU\EcuFlash\flashi ng\mitsubishi]
"protect low memory areas"="false"

I do not have the def for v2 2014+

So, I save it here: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\OpenECU\EcuFlash\flashi ng\Mitsubishi]

And type this into the note: "protect low memory areas"="false"

with or without the " "?

Also, the car has had the year reflashed. I can see the ROM info in ECUFlash, and it says it's a 2013, can't remember off the top of my head. But the car itself is a 2014. I'm guessing the tuner bench flashed it to a different year or something..

No everything I wrote is to be copied into notepad and saved with the extension .reg

it is to change a reg value so the openport 2.0 wire will overwrite low memory addresses if you want to flash a rom that is not a v2 on a v2 already ecu.

Save it anywhere and open it up, it will ask you to confirm making a change to the registry key. This gives you permission to overwrite the low mem protected areas of the ecu to flash a v2 (or stock rom back on) on it without benching the ecu to do so.
