I cannot pull my rom with ecuflash. I have a 2003 Lancer es at. But there is no option under the lists of vehicles to choose this one? And if I try any of the others and click read from ecu I get an error that days cannot connect to computer interface? Any thoughts or ideas are welcome and apreciated. I also just bought evoscan. But have yet to try it.

rom

Try reading it with evoscan. The model options are more generic and may be easier to read your ecu.

I'll give it a try today on my daily commute.. but there are no instructions with evoscan? Am I just supposed to plug it in and start the car and then hit start data logging in evoscan?

The data logging is used to watch engine parameters to see how the engine reacts while driving to help with tuning. I'm not sure that evoscan can get a copy of your engine rom. EcuFlash should be able to copy your rom file regardless of what car. Just hit the "read my engine rom" or something like that. Even if it doesn't recognize what vehicle it belongs to you can still save the rom.

You can read and write to the ecu with EvoScan. For some reason I can't with ecuflash so I do what I need to do on ecuflash and flash it with EvoScan.

So I should technically be able to pull my Rom with evoscan and then open it in ecuflash to work on it, then reflash my ecu with evoscan?

What cable are you using, and are you plugging in the flash connector? Also in ecuflash under ECU->Select Vehicle Type, what option are you choosing?

Actually here is a post I found that will probably help you out:

I'm not 100 percent what cord it is. I bought it off a member but yes the flash connector is plugged in. And under the vehicle selection I have tried multiple Mitsubishi options but none have worked

In evoscan go to Graphs and Map tracer-> View csv log data.... then right click in panel #3 and select Load ROM. Then right click again and at the bottom you can select different tables to edit. I would suggest instead trying to load the hex file in ecuflash as its a better platform for tuning. If you can get your Rom ID then it should be trivial to get the xml for that rom and add it into ecuflash.
