**Edit** Sorry, I didn't realize this was in the Evo 1-9 forums. Please feel free to move this to the correct sub-forum if it is more appropriate. I also didn't realize that the Evo X doesn't contain unique information (e.g. immobilizer code) in the ROM. I was able to download the stock version of my ROM from the norcalmotorsport site and compared its MD5 hash to my "stock" ROM's hash and they were a match, so they should be identical files. I'm not sure why my inspector would have flagged me for a mismatch if that is the case. Regardless, I would still be interested in the CID and CVN for the X if someone has it.
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I'm about to go do an emission inspection and I wanted to verify that my ROM was fully back to stock. I can't find the Cal ID and CVN for my 2011 EVO X GSR. I checked the EPA website that has been linked, but it looks like the search function isn't returning the full applications, it is just returning a subsection (volume 3 instead of volume 1). The results I'm getting don't include the tables referenced earlier in the thread. FWIW this is the section of the application I found https://dis.epa.gov/otaqpub/display_...d=24323&flag=1. I tried altering the docid in the URL parameters to see if I could find it, but I had no luck. Is there anyone that can find this information for me?
For some back story, I'm in CO not CA, but I failed emissions 2 years ago and was sent to the state inspector. I put the CAT back on and flashed what I believed to be my stock ROM, which I had backed up using ECUFlash. I passed everything but the inspector told me the ROM wasn't a match for the car. They let it slide at the time, but I don't want to throw any flags this time around in case things have gotten stricter. ROM ID is 56890010. The ECU case is marked with 1860B474.
Let me know if you need any other information
Thanks in advance
I'm in the same boat as you except I have a 2008 USDM EVO X GSR. Ive gone through that Epa website as well to only find Volume 3 so idk either. GOOD luck to both of us haha. BTW thanks for posting this because I was going to do the same after hours of searching and no answers. I hope someone can help.

Also the same here.
I've spent many hours over many days attempting to find a list of CVNs from stock roms for gsrs' but have had no luck.
Also especially many many thank yous to everyone in this thread and other threads who have created, compiled, gave input, and asked questions that lead to the wealth of info needed to tackle this issue.
Just an update on two more Evo's passing this year:
I had a friend/client's IX GSR pass effortlessly again. The only reversion this time was to stock injectors and a Tephra pump gas tune. Afterward, I instructed him to get the ECU recall done at the dealership (immobilizer was still on-hand) and test immediately after some drive cycles for monitors. Presto!
My '04 VIII passed with the same exact setup and tune from summer 2020 when it was last tested. I took a dice roll gamble after having stayed up-to-date on this thread and saw nothing published for 03-04. I was prepared to revert if flagged anyway.
IMPORTANT NOTE/OBSERVATION: My initial theory from back then actually proved true. Part of the data scan is for correct sensor data+values. One car (not an Evo but 04 or 06 LS) had initially failed because of a deleted device/sensor that was otherwise "programmed out" of the tune; this resulted in no data values for it. Small oversight but easily rectified.
Play it smart and it is not too bad... until the next round of changes and updates i.e. hurdles lol.
Yes, there's an emphasis on IXs and a completely stock flash is what passes.
That's what we've all been working with.
I'm taking mine in soon to have the ECU updated, that way I can save the ROM with immobilizer.
I want to have an easier time selling the car, seeing how I live in CA.
I am aware which is why I instructed him as-described instead of going in as-is again. The toss up was really just past test history and expecting a possible, random flag. Having the recall and rom (with invoice) would have just made things easier had he to needed schedule an appointment with ref.
Originally, I was just going to flash the known rom, but this was a more certain and safer bet

For the model year 08 all that shows up for me is a certificate of conformity for the regular lancer. How did you get the vol. 3 info to pop up in the results?
Long time lurker, first time poster. Just want to give biggiesacks, kaj, cdrinkh20 and razorlab massive props for your work on this thread.
I’ve been blissfully enjoying stand-alone tuning for months but I knew I had to get my game ready for smog when the time comes. I’ve been dreading this, but you’ve been very helpful describing how to move forward.
Thank you.
Update:
So, I've done the CVN force update and verified it, but I'm running into an entirely different problem now. No one wants to even try to test the car. It's not like I'm rolling in with a front facing turbo and a hood dump (which I've seen pass CA smog recently). All the visible parts have CARB E/O numbers, the readiness monitors are good to go and the mods are mild. One just outright refused to even try saying "we don't test any cars with aftermarket parts" after just looking at the car. Didn't even open the hood or hear it run. The second plugged in the monitor, turned the ignition on and noticed that readiness monitors were green before the car was running.
So, time to go back to stock and do some drive cycles. Looks like the only way around or through is the hard way. Just sharing information so folks know what it's like out there. Is there some new incentive system for the shops that prevents them from even trying?

... and I've passed. Didn't need to go all the way back to stock. Just found a shop that was willing to test it. Pro-tip - don't turn on all the readiness monitors - lots of posts about that. After that, the hardest thing was getting it to idle well on 272 cams.

Yea I passed with mine but its all stock. Just got my second registration sticker and I didnt have to smog again. Yea match your readiness monitors with a stock map. Also you could install 272 cams that idle better but they wont make as much mid range to top end power. The idle is not supposed to be a deal breaker but you never know who wants to pass on it because of that.
A smog tech told me that they get fined by the state if a car comes back as a fail. Which means it passed smog at their shop but the State Ref reviewed it and failed it after the fact. This might be why they dont want to take a chance on it if this is true.
So I tried looking for the original documentation on the EPA website but I cant find anything for 2006 Evo 9 that has CAL ID or CVN in it. Am I being slow and forgetting a search term or has it been scrubbed?
If you have an Evo 9 see this for what you must do to pass the Ref:inspection

They are very adamant about this so I would avoid the risk to fail the inspection unless your are ok with paying the dealership to fix everything. Right now, you have the liberty of doing all the work yourself or choosing someone to work on it to correct everything before scheduling the first appmt.
I just recently passed the REF a few months ago and while my car's hardware is bone stock, I purchased the car with a tune which flagged it from the PO. Call Mitsubishi to see if your car had the most recent ECU software recall done. If so, this will be your ROM ID, CAL ID and CVN that the Ref will check:

Not scrubbed - it is just not updated with the subsequent revisions;
Here is the relevant section outlined in red:
The entry for
1860A465AA is the original USDM Evo 9 ROM 88590013, which was superseded by
1860A465BB or ROM 88590014.
Further revisions came after the ARB document was published for:
1860A465CC which is ROM 88590015, and was superseded by
1860A465DD which is current ROM 88590016 and known to pass as a valid stock ECU with:
