The new criteria wasn't implemented until July 19, 2021. 2 months ago, that would make it June. So it wouldn't have affected you.

Take it to the dealer and throw yourself at their mercy. Make sure it is a good dealer and that they know what they are doing!

I have an 06 Evo IX, had it since new, finally had it flash tuned last month after I stopped modding 10 years ago.
I specifically asked the tuner to give me a copy of the stock tune because of the new ECU requirements by SMOG testing.

I have my tactrix cable and ECUFlash.

If I reflash back to stock, I should be able to pass without issue right? This should be correct right? Has anyone flashed back to stock and passed emissions?

Sorry if this was already answered, I am browsing on my phone and tried to read as much content as I could.

Yup you just need to use ECUFlash with the tactrix cable to flash your stock map.

Hypothetical question...

If I got a 3 port electronic boost controller and a tune, then when I go get a SMOG, I would have to reinstall my stock boost controller and reflash to my stock tune?

No way to tune the 3 port electronic boost controller without modifying the stock tune correct?

It needs to be A 100% STOCK TUNE. stock. OEM. Not modified. Nothing changed. Left Alone. As it came from the factory. STTTTTTTTTOOOOOOOOOOOOCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKK.

Hopefully that clears things up a bit.

But what if I....

lol jk. Got it. I wanted to add a few more mods but I don't want the hassle of going back to stock every 2 years.

Back in '01 my friends and I used to turbo charge our Hondas. Yep... Back to stock every other year for smog. Then, local PD started popping hoods and sending out ref tickets. Now I'm older and lazier. I'm over it. Any car I register in CA will follow all the bull**** laws. If the car is too slow then I'll get something faster. I just no longer have the desire to swap parts in and out.

**Edit** Sorry, I didn't realize this was in the Evo 1-9 forums. Please feel free to move this to the correct sub-forum if it is more appropriate. I also didn't realize that the Evo X doesn't contain unique information (e.g. immobilizer code) in the ROM. I was able to download the stock version of my ROM from the norcalmotorsport site and compared its MD5 hash to my "stock" ROM's hash and they were a match, so they should be identical files. I'm not sure why my inspector would have flagged me for a mismatch if that is the case. Regardless, I would still be interested in the CID and CVN for the X if someone has it.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I'm about to go do an emission inspection and I wanted to verify that my ROM was fully back to stock. I can't find the Cal ID and CVN for my 2011 EVO X GSR. I checked the EPA website that has been linked, but it looks like the search function isn't returning the full applications, it is just returning a subsection (volume 3 instead of volume 1). The results I'm getting don't include the tables referenced earlier in the thread. FWIW this is the section of the application I found https://dis.epa.gov/otaqpub/display_...d=24323&flag=1. I tried altering the docid in the URL parameters to see if I could find it, but I had no luck. Is there anyone that can find this information for me?

For some back story, I'm in CO not CA, but I failed emissions 2 years ago and was sent to the state inspector. I put the CAT back on and flashed what I believed to be my stock ROM, which I had backed up using ECUFlash. I passed everything but the inspector told me the ROM wasn't a match for the car. They let it slide at the time, but I don't want to throw any flags this time around in case things have gotten stricter. ROM ID is 56890010. The ECU case is marked with 1860B474.

Let me know if you need any other information

Thanks in advance
