Laggy moving off - Need comment
Hi all,
Need some comments here, attached is my map for reference.
With this timing map, the car feels great when I stab it hard and move off with boost.
However, if I'm stucked in traffic jam and inching forward, the car is really laggy.
On the map, I tried advancing the timing up to 70% load and then decreasing it, as it starts knocking if I advance from 70%-120%. The map is already tuned for no-knock.
My question is, could the drastic drop in timing between 60 to 70 load be the cause of the laggy move off ?
Thanks !
Note: I'm running open loop at 40% load.

I am definitely not an expert when it comes to ecuflash, but I tried out the custom map that nj1266 came up with for the MIVEC timing and it basically flattened my torque curve right out. I put down over 320 wtq before 3500rpm. You can find the map in the how-to sticky in the Ecuflash section
Give it a shot - worked for me!

My concern is,since low load don't induce knock, and I might had unknowingly advanced beyond the optimum point and start getting lag instead of any improvement. Also, I don't have Mivec

Bummer on the MIVEC. But I know what you mean about the advancing too far thing. I had to fix my AFRs due to all my mods being put on before a tune (running stupid lean), but when I went to tune my timing, I compared my "final" map to my baseline map, and my baseline map (with a few bumps smoothed out) made more tq earlier.
Since then I've started doing estimated HP and TQ runs on the same on ramp in the same place every time I flash my car. Something to be said for scientific process.

Since you are on pump gas it might be a tad lean in your map from the idle cells to the "get up and moving" load cells.
That would cause the car to feel flat or fall on it's face when moving. Try richening it up and see if it helps.
