Are you still going to test the HTA37R with the housing you were waiting for or do you think it is a lost cause at this point?

That is strange that the .63 A/R PTE housing is claimed to make the same HP as the .82 A/R Garrett housing when I've seen tests on other cars show the exact opposite??? They weren't trying to use the wastegate down on the O2 housing though.

I'm an FP fanboy, but honestly, I don't see how they would have been able to compete with the R&D that a company like Honeywell is able to pour into these things. Then again, maybe FP was just pulling design features right from the Honeywell racing turbochargers?

I'm holding out either way on a turbo purchase. Call it speculation, but I think Garrett has been feeling the crunch that Borg Warner has put on them on the performance market and is going to come out swinging hard in the near future...

Just to clarify that you are of course 100% correct on this point.

No one recomended this to the customer - he decided on his own to try the GT37 HTA turbo and ordreded it direct from FP himself

I think that with a .82 4bolt 3in backside, a 44mm Tial (not recuirculated, if this 1 was) over all power out put would be very different.

I am not going to do back to back testing on the turbo now. This testing is good enough for me.

YUP.

AMS isn't even making that here with 42lbs of boost.
Wouldn't the results be different with a better matched Exh housing? I can't think from this test we're just going to assume that the .63 housing is good enough, no matter who's .63 housing it is.

I agree on the .63 housing... there is no way it is good enough for such a large turbo.

AMS's test was pi** poor IMO . I am in NO WAY BASHING AMS, I just dont think it was good test.

SharkBite2000 put down 724 whp with AMS 37R kit, next day I put down 748 whp on HTA35R kit, same dyno. Could anyone explain why did the HTA 35 R made more power.I would also like to see AL overlay the two graphs to compare the curve's.Thanks.
Oh by the way I had the similar kit that Sharkbite2000 has 37R with 5 bolt housing.I made 628whp on Buschur's dyno, then they installed the HTA 35 R and made 649whp.Buschur could also overlay those graphs also to compare.I figured I could ask because I had both of those kits on my car and on two different dyno's.

The only difference between the two 37R kits is the header, the turbo's were exact same.5 bolt .63.

I thought the HTA37 aka HTA88 with .82 was the bad boy not the 63.

When you made 628whp with the gt37r did you use VP import or just c16? This can explain the differences. If i remember correctly you did use VP Import fuel with the HTA35R to make 748w.. These comparisons can get tricky specially when your not under the same conditions. Anyway, Pete whats your next project car?
