yeah I guess this is where a 2.3L stroker really shines. I could reach 500 hp with a larger turbo, but my tuner said that a 2.3L kit does not like to rev higher than 7000 rpm. This is because of the extreme piston speeds. 7k rpm equals to approx 9k rpm for a 2.0L. Right now this car is extremely responsive it does pull from any rev- I dont need to shift- it just pulls brutal hard right from 45 mph in 5th gear ! When I got myself a competitor in the next lane I dont need to start shifting I usually only flat it and still win the race :-D

If I was to build another motor I would go for a 2.2L kit and go with a little bigger turbo for bigger HPs, but yeah it would be very hard for me to justify the low rev tq loss I guess- torque is addictive :-D

I will try a 3071R with this 2.3L kit in this authum. 3076 is an overkill in my eye because boosting around 4.5k rpm is not race compatible for me- im not dragging.

Jam stroker 2.3L w\o Balance shaft
Hks 264\264
Greddy adjustable cam gears
Brian crower valve spring and reteiner
Injen intake
Injen UIP \ lICP
Unknown 2.75 inch downpipe
Injen 3 inch test pipe
Injen 3 inch cat back
Stock evo 8 turbo 9.8 hotside
Stock intercooler
Turbo xs MBC 25 psi peak can't keep higher than 16 psi at 7000 rpm

so here are the result on a Dynapack Dyno power to the wheels 4th gear pull
Note that i have a boost leak on the throttle shaft seal (awaiting works one) so boost is not keeping in higher rpm, still very promising once this is corrected and the grimmspeed should help a lot to keep it. Red line was first pull at 13 psi up to 7500 rpm

no doesnt bother me. you need to increase the duty cycle on the wg to force it to hold more uptop. its common to have the boost drop off on a small turbo.

Thanks it's just that currently i am using my mbc because i need to repair a wire that has been cut and repaired by the first owner. So after that i'll hook up the grimmspeed and see what we can do for the wastegate. Thanks very much for your help!

no problem. mbc is nice, but sometimes not so nice on stock block since you have to crank it up for it to hold out the top so you get an initial torque spike..

you're on a built motor tho, but no rocket fuel i take it, so you'll certainly benefit from grimspeed.

Nice graph but why did you stop at 20psi? Break-in map?
