Got Dyno Tune today
Either I'm not reading all of his mods but he made that much with only that many mods???? I plan on getting tune at DSG in norwood, ma when they I get my sheptranny installed.... What do you guys think I'll be making with my mods + meth???? My buddy has a sti and got tuned with a gt30r turbo setup and is only making 330whp... whats up with that??? to me it sees like evos will be making more horsepower with little mods the way his modds showed us....
I couldn't take it any longer - I'm scheduled for an AMS tune in mid-May. Can't wait
Thanks again everyone for the kind comments.
BTW. My car was already tuned before going to AMS. The reason I got retuned was because I added the EPM o2 dump and the GM 3port. (I didn't like the MBC).
I didn't have my car dyno'd before so I wasn't sure what the difference was in whp.
To me the car does not feel alot quicker, but I see the 3 port holds boost alot better then the MBC did (well most of the times). But everyone I gave a ride to so far said the car definetly pulls harder.

Yea, I also forgot to ask.
Before the tune, you could not hear the o2 dump up until 15psi. Now after the tune I begin to hear it at around 10psi.
Why is the wastgate opening up so much earlier now?
Thanks

My ix put down 256whp/247tq with an exhaust and cone filter, so 230-240 seems about right, maybe a bit low. (Post-tune was 272whp/274tq, with gains of 30whp and 50tq around 3200rpm).
I'm not sure that's right. I was talking to one of the AMS guys after getting a tune, and he said that stock IXs put down 230-240whp.

All I can tell you is that's what I remember. You can look back at the stock numbers coming from them back in 2006. Most are around 250-260 whp.
Now, it's possible that their numbers are different ever since they moved. But those were the numbers out of the Des Plaines location.
It's already been posted that the VIII's put down 230-240 whp. When you look at comparisons between the IX and VIII, the IXs usually put down 10-20 more whp, stock vs stock.
FWIW, my basic "stock" re-tune (completely stock car) only netted a peak of 6 whp and 11 ft/lbs. When Martin first got their IX, he posted getting over 20 whp on just the tune, so one can imagine my disappointment with my 'gains.'
220-240whp on a stock ix seens right. If its any higher, then the car is a freak or the dyno reads alittle high. I've been to numerous dyno days with alot of stock ix's that all read roughly the same. 220-230whp.
Back on topic, I don't think it really matters what "WHP" you see or get, as long as the car feels good and your content with the power it delivers.

That is because your MBC was holding the WG closed longer, with your 3 port they have it set up to bleed off earlier, probably to avoid a boost spike..
