It's not impressive at all. You should have kept your IX turbo if that was the case.
I agree dude. I would say if you had stock cams then those numbers would be right on but your cams are aggressive GSC S2's which are great for the turbo.

Not trying to drag you into this like that but I understand Tony may not want to openly bash but as an alternative if a reputable tuner is not available in his area and traveling to get a tune is an issue Mellon Tuning is a great alternative and lets face it your work proceeds you

im not defending it and im not praising it anymore, as for i have no idea what a proper tune should look like but it isent all bad from my knowleg cuz it runs fine around town and the idel tune for the cams were good. so maby if the tune gets some more agressive timming and more boost then the turbo should let me rip some high trap speeds and low times i hope lol

The numbers are low for the mods..you upgraded all those things and trapped the same...but made alot more power? It sure will feel faster because it pulls harder up top...I would get the car tuned by someone else. Ivey FTW! =)

not defending any1, but this is a very good question... This could the culprit. I think you should always do a boost leak test before a tune...

It's very easy to join the "I hate Al club" based on his past track record and reputation. It's much more difficult to keep a level head and check the car's mechanical state of being. It wouldn't take too long to boost leak test the car, change the plugs, and throw some fresh oil in it while you are at it. Take a look around under the hood and see if anything pops out at you.

112-113mph on a Red may create enough urgency for a compression test if all other items are with-in spec.

If everything else pans out-- THEN you join the club!!!....j/k

boost leak test i have not done but i would think al would have told me if i had one or no cuz my car holds boost fine.

and compression test is 125 across all 4

my plugs are brand new 1 step colder

oil changed the day befor

and everythign looks fin under the hood so i denno but all i have to say is that my friend pulled my timming map and said it was really conservitive. he said that at most it was only seeing 12deg of timming

Kind of tough to get the et's you are looking for with these 60ft's and "granny shifting".

Now if your launch control settings is what made the difference, I can understand your frustrations... Was that the case?? I believe RYU mentioned in the drag thread how different launching his evo on the red was.... We can talk mph vs hp, but there may be a slight margin of error that some seat time can repair.

Oh yeah,,, let us know the boost leak test results.

i went to Al for a tune with my red with meth and made only 440whp and 422 tq. I went to my mechanic to do a boost leak test and sure enough i had a cpl major ones. My hose connecting to my pcv valve was torn and my tbolt clamps on my intercooler piping were too big so i was leaking boost there as well. I began leaking boost at 8psi. My car now is good to 50psi now i just have to have the car retuned.

well i had 1 run with a 1.6 60' with decent shifting which that was the 12.0 114mph run but im deffiently gonna try to do better and yes it is differnt launching the red turbo, so far i noticed i have to 2-step it alot longer to only hame half the bost off the line that my XI turbo made,.

as far as a boost leak text ill have to find some one who had one and try to get one done. thanks for you advice too
