So he's pulling the lever down to upshift?

Reverse pattern manual valve body. Very common so you don't accidentally out it in reverse.

It seems like all you guys have 4wd 8 seconds cars, the way you guys talk make it seem like its super easy to built a 8 second all wheel drive car
A well setup auto can be much better then a seqential dog box.
The problem is the subie's AUTO's suck and very few people have got the gear box working like the glide/t400/480le etc.

- no need to change very expensive clutches
- very consistent shifting and launches
- on a manual you need to figure out your launch rpm, need to practice how to slip the very expensive clutch, you are risking miss shifting
- you would have to buy a very expensive straight cut gearbox for the ultimate setup

From a cost point of view you are looking at $15K easy for a dogbox and carbon clutch plus, axles, etc etc...

An automatic could be as much as half the price, plus the service intervals are much longer...
Not really, a well built auto trans for a SUBARU(key word) will cost you more then a dog box, and by the time you are done buying a proper converter.. you could have bought a triple disk.

The dog box setup in the 8sec P&L STI that I tune cost us about 8-9k
The Auto setup in the other 8sec P&L STI that I tune cost us blood sweat and tears to get it to leave and stay together. The service intervals are way more in depth and the time consuming (valve body, filters, clutches, trans brake) It does however make for super consistent times and much easier on the driveline.

Yep

If those dudes are saying the car is not an Auto, they are straight up full of ****. The car hops forward and reverse when put in gears, plus it leaves just like our AUTO GC. Next they will say it has no spray either

We have a air shifted transmission on the electric bus where I work, the air shifted transmission can be tuned to be smooth and shift super fast.... you just need the right software and tuning . Can you imagine buying a bus that doesn't shift smoothly ?

Was a joke. Since they get all mad and defensive about everything.
Just looks like it loads up on the converter/trans brake and then goes

What is going on at 5225rpm on each of these graphs?

Dunno, why do you ask?
Are you trying to point out that the HP plot does not intersect with the TQ line at 5250rpm?

They don't intersect because torque is measured in kg/m instead of ft/lbs and HP is measured in PS instead of HP.
