Highest HP 4g63 engine (from 2007)

What kind of oiling mods have you done to run 11k rpms?

You just need a cam profile and spring that will follow each other. I've bench tested my springs with the stock DSM rockers and lifters to 12.6k and short-endurance tested the setup to 11k. The 11k test was only about a 5-minute test (held at speed). Valve tip wear was an issue, but as long as the valvetrain was in control parts breakage was by no means a concern. Hold it at a speed where there is a bad surge event or take it past float rpm and everything will break.

Me being a life long DSMer can say that Kiggly is correct.
The valve train takes some engineering, but isn't a huge hurdle with the materials available.
And broken rocker arms truly aren't experienced in our DSM 4G63's.

Hi Spyros,
the average piston speed that you indicate for F1 engines is wrong. In the V10 era F1 engines have a stroke that was between 41 and 43mm. Now in the V8 era the stroke is about the same, or smaller. So, assuming a stroke of 43mm at 18.000rpm, it translate into 25.8m/s.
Also if we consider the 20.000rpm revlimit of the 2006 season, it will be 28.7m/s.

Want to calculate maximum speed now? And get rid of dead time at TDC and BDC and the acceleration after each?
I'm saying that you may be right with "average speed", just that Spyros didn't quote "average speed"

If you read the thread, they didn't build it to be the fastest, they built it to be the highest HP.

its amazing how smooth that car can shift even at 11,000rpm+

I was in a vehicle about 3 weeks ago with a STM (New Zeiland) Dog box + Ghost shifter with an Ikeya sequential shifter (up and down clicks to shift).. they call it a ghost shifter because theres a button on the steering wheel you push and it shifts to the next gear for you.. but that car was brutally aggressive as far as shifting went.. it was very loud and shifts came on hard.. it seems in this video its shifting like butter and hes not even using the clutch pedal.

pretty amazing.. then the fact its 14psi.. pretty much the turbos so big that it shifts the powerband to the 2nd half of the rpm gauge . i was in another car that had a powerband similar to that. its amazing when youre just normal shifting around town at 6500rpm and it feels like 3000.
