Haha - CA$H is another username on here, so sorry about the confusion. I'd call him by his real name but that would likely confuse people more and he may not want it blasted all over the forums.

Ah, that is where you were last we talked. You need to make one of the meets, buddy! We had like 5 this past weekend! Phew!

On the exact same tune, same fuel levels, same boost, etc., the Black was good for ~+30whp on pump gas! We could've pushed it more with 100% meth but honestly on the stock block there was no need to.

If I don't speak to you beforehand, have a happy holidays!

Ok...back to the thread at hand.

Is a aftermarket intake manifold a must when running pumpgas with the black? Or would porting be sufficient?

^ It is not a must. But the large Magnus v5 really helps out a lot. It is on of the best mods you can do imo.

The Magnus or any of the available aftermarket intake manifolds allow the engine to breathe easier (increased VE) and as a result we can run more timing on a given combo.

On my personal car on the stock intake manifold I couldnt run more than 9* at 29psi on pump and was limited to around 530whp. More boost or more timing only resulted in misfires and knock. I swapped to the the Magnus cast that is on my car and was able to run the timing up to 12-13* and over 30psi without knock. I was making 575 then at 29psi. The power was the timing that I was able to run but you can see a definite divergence in the powerband of my car after the intake in general.

Past around 7k it really started to take off, this is a combination of the intake and timing as I mentioned.

What about porting on the turbos? Was the RED and/or the BLACK ported?

Is there going to be red vs black dyno sheets for 93 with meth? Or is this in another thread?

Both turbos were left unported.

The red numbers previous to the black were 470whp/380tq on 100% and the car made 512/413 on the black at the same boost level. I will try to get the dyno sheet from Drift Office from our last dyno day there so we can compare the two.

Quick question, didnt Most Wanted do over 600whp on a dynojet on a Red? I was fairly sure that was the "record" for a red on a DJ.
