I would love to lay down 430 on CBRD's dyno but really I think I want to just tip the scale toward the "big turbo" side and whatever that yeilds, it yield. Meaning go as big as I possibly can while living with the extra lag and lack of response to a well defined point. Almost like going to the perfect turbo as far as response then going just one step up. Example, I know a 35R is not for me but a BBK Full is so good I could live with some more lag if need be. I drove one once and it felt like it spooled FASTER than my stock VIII turbo. When I was younger the car was build purely for the twisties. Now that I am older and not as crazy out there I kind of want something more for the straight line but still very DD-able. I think this will be the ticket.

So where are all the results???

I`ll be buying turbo in a next couple of weeks. Still not sure between HKS 7460 vs BBK Full. HKS BB spool is tempting but id doesn`t flow as good as BBK and cause of that HKS might suffer form Surge. Well I`ll have some $$ in couple of weeks, I should decide by then

I don't know what the difference is in spool time to the BBK Full as I upgraded from stock turbo, but in previous post i think someone mentioned it's around 250rpm, and about 450rpm from stock. My choice in this turbo was based on future mods, and that I will require a stroker kit to make this turbo work well. It is my understanding that this turbo needs 26psi or more to be doing it justice. My tuner advised that he would tune it on 22psi & 24psi for now, then bring it back in a few weeks to up the boost.

Considering the low boost setting, I am thrilled to be making 400whp, I really would like to see what the stock 2.0ltr can achieve. Starts spooling at about 3600, and the power delivery is very strong from 4100 right up to the top end range of 7500. I can say that there is so much more in this turbo to come, when I have completed my objectives. The car has been reborn Great work CB

Over here we have kilowatts, and I am told this dyno reads low, so it could actually be a higher reading. I will keep this thread updated

Based on the intake temp you more than likely had a correction factor to your advantage so if i was you id be happy with the power reading and not assume the dyno is low.

Nice result BTW, pretty good response for the power output.

I know most guys run the Full at 26-27psi on 93 and it seems this turbo picks up 30 or so whp on the same boost on the same fuel for a trade off of 250-300 RPM and a bit of transient response loss. Think back to when we all did cams the first time...it was about the same gain with the same loss. Only here the B is the same price (basically) as the Full so it is like getting 30whp for free. I have been back and forth on this so many times...stock IX, Full, or B. With the supporting mods I have or will have on this winter, I am going with the B. I finally made up my mind. God, I cannot wait till spring! lol

Definitely not a bad choice. I plan on adding more to my setup to really take advantage of the full. Then whenever it's time to rebuild the motor it will probably be built to suit the B. Well that's the plan anyway.

Yeah I guess what really got me to this point is we have a baby on the way and I know the chance of me upgrading from the Full to the B, or anything else for that matter, anytime soon is not gonna happen. So figured I will just go all out now...while I still can...

Congrats on the baby!! Might as well go all out now like you said. I will eventually upgrade I hope if not no biggie. I still need to upgrade the intake manifold and TB as well as the intercooler. I think I'll play with this setup and try to max it out then see what I can do with the B!
