CBRD new BBKB results
Chad talked me out of the B and into the Full. Getting tuned in less than 2 weeks. I hope I do not regret the decision. When you guys post up results please post what supporting mods, fuel, and boost. PLEASE. thanks...
Said you gain little hp and lose torque and response to the point it is not worth going with the B if you are running under 30psi. Since I will be 27 max on 93 only, it's gonna have to wait for a built bottom end....and that may never happen. Said Caleb had it on his car like 3 weeks then went back to the Full. It is a GREAT turbo, just not the best choice for pump gas and stock internals it seems. Just depends on what you want too. I want my car to still feel like an EVO. Responsive and built more for the twisties than a straight line. That's just me.
so you have to do alot more work to the bottom end? i didnt know that? my goal is 450 and something close to that as for as torque and thinking of going to corn fed... so my question is am i better off getting the full over the B?? thanks for all the info by the way!

Sorry to jack the BBK-B thread btw...
You dont HAVE to do bottom end work. But to get the most you can out of this thing if you plan to run high boost on 93 I personally do not feel comfortable going that high in the boost range. On E85 you may be fine. Talk to Chad and your tuner. I never really looked into E85 as there are only 2 stations that have it and both are about 20+ miles away from my house. I would say for E85 the B would be a bas *** choice though. For 93 the Full may be better.

Chad talked me out of the B as well because I'm tracking the car (road course) on 93 octane with stock block atm so the Full is a better turbo for my current setup. If I go to a built 2.3L stroker I might look at going to the BBK-B, but right now I'm loving the BBK-Full.

I ran the BBK Full all of 2010 for autocross competition with a 2.0L block, and it was as close to perfect as you could expect, knowing that engineering is always a compromise of objectives—only slightly slower spool than the OEM Evo9 TD05-16G, but WAY more torque and top end power too.
Driving the car at Wendover, UT and Lincoln, NE for National events (30 psi, E85) after being used to the car at "only" 350-ish whp (uncorrected) at the 5,000+ ft. of elevation here in CO was literally eye-widening.
At lower elevation, my Evo with the BBK Full was just over 400whp/400wtq (uncorrected). Both my co-driver and I would come back in after our first runs, and say "HOLY F*****N S**T the car is strong! That was actually more than a little terrifying..."
Luckily, by the 3rd runs, we were used to it.

The BBK Full was strong enough for my Evo to trap 124.6 mph in the 1/4 mile... the ET wasn't that great, only 11.64, but keep in that run had a HORRIBLE 1.923 60-ft, AND it was at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, CO—elevation 5,860 feet.
And on the highway, for illicit 4th and 5th gear pulls @ over 100 mph, the BBK-B will make you wonder how anyone could want more power (but of course, many of us eventually do).
Got mine earlier this week... super-excited to get by engine build done with this bad boy!!!

The inlet to the compressor wheel is nearly 2.4 inches (2.391") straight in...

And weight freaks will be glad to know my ported BBK-B is significantly lighter than my previous BBK Full... the BBK-B is .45 pound lighter! (That 19.39 lb weight is including the wastegate actuator, even though you can't see it in the pic)
